The whole water thing has been done before, but some of the effects were kind cool. I was just like "WHY WOULD THEY SUBMERGE A DRUM KIT UNDERWATER??? NOOOOOO"

This is definitely the least terrible video they've made (I've hated all their vids in the pas), but I still found the playing-guitar/drums-in-water parts a bit silly. However, the upside down shots of the band members falling into the water at the end look soooooooooo cool.

And the song rules. Stoked for next tuesday.

Nicely done sputnik, refer to a band that put out a post hardcore album, a melodeath ep, and 6 metalcore albums as post hardcore.

Yeah, Spencer's clean singing isn't really good or bad, but thank god it's not Aaron, who never fit aside from their old stuff.

after one listen through, Aaron is definitely missed. His vocals i don't miss, but his beats were actually pretty goddamn creative. The new drummer is talented, but his beats are pretty straightforward

I think that this is just as good as LITSOS and DTGL, IDK. It's an awesome album though, and I don't see how anyone cannot realize the talent in this band and the fact that they have gone far, from an above average post-hardcore band to a fully respectable Metalcore act. And Spencer's singing is just fine, I do miss Aaron a bit though, but that's what the older stuff is for.

Underoath is awesome.

I watched this video and literally forgot that they have a new drummer. The one in this vid just looks like he's been with the band since the beginning.

He is great on the album, less agressive fills, but fitting nonetheless.

hahaha most people enjoy live music? i guess you're not one of them. the dude was awful live. and it makes the band less respectable when you listen to their albums. I enjoy their music, always have, but if you can't replicate it then it takes away from its quality. anyone can use auto-tune, get a drum fill right 1/200 times, etc.

i play drums, and although aaron gillespie is good at drums, i could play most of what he plays and have it recorded if you gave me some time. and that's true for a lot of musicians. and not that it's relevant, but i recorded the drums for breathing in a new mentality in about 2 hrs.

... granted the dude did sing and play and that is hard as fuck. point remains.

There's a difference between being able to play someone's parts and actually coming up with them. Aaron did what he had to to be able to sing and play. Both suffered a little bit, but he carried a lot of weight in this band. It feels like they're having a hard time with the gap he left. New drummer is adequate but hardly noteworthy...I find his playing slightly boring. Also, is it just on my leaked version that the guitars are mixed WAY too out front, and everything else...especially vocals, gets buried as a result?

i think that is just your version. and i know you have to write it, hence why i said he is good at drums; because of creativity, not because of ability. and that was also my point. he didnt do singing or drumming spectacularly live. but whatever, dude plays for the almost.

what I mean is, I've seen their live DVD 777, and he wasn't all that amazing or anything, but he was still adequate, and for me, it's an okay trade off to have him be a below average drummer live and above average studio. I'm a drummer too and I've always kinda been the same away. Granted, our equipment was so crappy it had more to do with the fact that I couldn't hear the guitarists for shit while I was drumming. I still think Aaron is better than the new guy, but Underoath is better off without his vocals in the mix.
