ABACABB break up 2010-08-01 by Hunter Ramirez | 57 Replies | 4320 Views |
Alexandria deathcore act ABACABB have reported through Lambgoat.net that they are officially calling it quits. Rumors begun to surge when the band's bassist Stefan quit, and guitarist Jeff reported through his Twitter account "Couldn't think of a better end to this band than a final meal at Whataburger with Stick To Your Guns."
Later the band issued this statement
"I have heard several things going around on why Abacabb called it quits. It was not just because our bass player quit, or because we had money problems, or any of the other reasons I have heard people talking about. There are probably a million reasons why we decided that it's best if we all moved on from Abacabb; it was basically a snowball effect that would not end. One thing led to another and it all just became so clear to me and the guys that we should just call it quits. I'm sure you will see a couple of us doing other things in the future. I'm going to go ahead and say the same thing that every other band says. Thanks for all the memories, thanks to anyone who came to a show, bought a CD or shirt, thanks to anyone who booked us a show, booked us a tour, worked for our band, let us sleep on their floor, or let us shower. Thanks to anyone who played in this band and made all this possible. It's been the best 6 years of my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything. We will be playing some last shows on the east coast this fall, make sure you come out! Also, we will be leaving our merchstores up for a few months so make sure you check them out and grab some merch!"

best news in weeks
|
| |
They probably heard Wormwood and realized they didn't have anything to contribute to hardcore.
|
| |
they probably realized that naming a band after some video game blood-code was a shitty idea, and that their music was worthless, and that their fans were core-kids who will never do anything decent with their lives.
yep
|
| |
glad they're gone
didn't they play on tv once?
|

Thread title is ABCABB break up, not Carach Angren break up.
|
| |
isnt the band name moar like ABACABB?
|
| |
I think it is. Regardless, shouldn't we point out how ADB spouts things about, "bands nobody cares about," when talking about moderately successful bands, and yet he's a database of bad faux-jazz metal?

idk kids around here loved them
|
| |
They were around for six years? How in the hell did Sumerian Records find these guys?
Also, in b4 "1 deathcore band down, 20000 more to go"
|
| |
THIS IS MY INFECTION
|

I love how they wont say why they actually broke up. Not the best band ever but a good live show. They influenced the local scene a lot and probably are the reason why there are so many shitty deathcore bands around here.
|
| |
there's shitty deathcore bands in nova? haha
|
| |
I thought the title was just an acronym, what the fuck kind of band name is that?
|
| |
It's a pandemic that has spread all over the word.
|
| |
no i mean like... i have friends in bands that aren't deathcore in nova so i was just wondering. i didn't even know
|
| |
yeah the biggest two right now are In Alcatraz 1962 and Upon Disfigurement. I just went to that big ass tour to see Circle of Contempt and Thick as Blood and like seven local bands played and other then one they all sounded the same.
|
| |
WARisalliknow91, i was at that show. upon disfigurement was actually pretty good, atleast compared to all the other god awful locals.
and wtf was up with no one moving to circle of contempt. they acted like they had never heard of them before.
|
| |
Band name is lol
|
| |
Alcatraz 1962? Are you serious? Ahahahha, that's the worst band name everrrrr.
|
| |
^ yeah, if you want to lol at some band names, just go to some shows in nova/dc/md
|
| |
In Alc isn't really deathcore at all.
Upon Disfigurement is friends with my band haha. Their vocalist is a really nice guy. I didn't realize you lived kinda near me.
|
| |
philm I have no clue, i tried moshing to get people to move and nothing worked.
In Alcatraz isnt really deathcore but they used to be with their old vocalist and now they are a hardcore-wannabe band.
Tyler is a nice dude but they are still shitty and their fat guitarist is annoying. I ended up buying tickets from them by accident. Some dude approached me to sell me tickets and after i bought them was like "yeah im selling them for Upon Disfigurement" and i tried to get my money back.
And no Upon Disfigurement wasnt good, they get the same five kids to get people to mosh.
|
| |
fatality!
|
| |
One deathcore band down, a billion to go.
