So far (not having heard this release yet) every album after "All Is Violent, All Is Bright" have cranked up the yawn factor by x5 each release.
I hope this is different.
|
| |
omg i wasnt aware they were making a new album... guess i've been living under a rock =( thanks for the heads up
|
| |
didnt like all is violent that much, so im not really looking forward to this
|
| |
the most easily ignorable post-rock band ever
|
| |
WHAT WHERE DID THIS COME FROM
listening yesss
and what, robertsona? Have you listened through All Is Violent?
|
| |
pretty good honestly
|
| |
If it doesn't match up to All Is Violent I'm not sure I'll bother, because it'll just be the same thing but done slightly worse.

3.5

don't these guys hate us?
|
| |
what do you mean?

I remember a couple years ago there was a bit of bitching between them and whoever was running the
sputnik myspace when their last album came out. they didnt like the review...
|
| |
lame if that happened
|
| |
That's actually sort of funny. God is An Astronaut/Sputnik feud. You have to be pretty miniscule to get pissed at a partially user
based website.
edit: Unless there's something else to it. From the way you described it, it sounds like they just got upset by a review written for
them.
|
| |
far from refuge was my favorite of theirs. liked all is violent too.
Digging: Twin Shadow - Confess

gotta say I'm digging the first track
|
| |
I'm partial to their moment of stillness ep.
|
| |
lame that it happened
|

It was actually guys from the band that got all shitty wasn't it? I can't remember who the reviewer was but they were like "YOU JUST DON'T GET OUR MUSIC". I've actually hated them a bit more since they were like that.
Good band, but listening to a full album of theirs seams harder than most post-rock.
|
| |
Actually, this isn't too bad so far.
And lol at the feud. What douches.
|
| |
Not bad, kind of a return to form. The guitar work on the title track is awesome, and a real step for them
|
| |
This was okay
Digging: Kuxan Suum - Kinich Ahau
|

I still prefer their first 2 albums but this is a 4.

All Is Violent is one of my favourite records ever. This worth picking up then?
|
| |
Meh, I can't blame them. That review WAS kinda shit. BTW, i agree w/ BrahTheSunGod about the title track. Really nice riffs there. Definitely a standout track from the album.
|
| |
What review was it? And can somebody post their reaction or whatever they posted on their myspace?
|
| |
Completely missed this, cool
|
| |
"This worth picking up then?"
Yes, most definitely. Like I said, I wasn't expecting this, it's quite a step up actually.
|
| |
Oh, and "Shining Through" is a virtually flawless track, esp. with this rerecording.
|
| |
I never liked this band but i've always felt that they ve got some huge potential and that one day they may put out something HUGe is this that?
|
| |
About 3/4 of the tracks on here are
The rest are just good
|
| |
The first half of the album is boring, but it really picks up in the second. I just finished the title track, which was awesome.
