James Brown's Body 'Stolen'

2010-03-12 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 43 Comments
The daughter of soul icon James Brown has claimed that the singer's body has been stolen from her home.

Brown died on Christmas Day 2006 as a result of heart failure caused by complications from pneumonia, however his personal life has proven to be just as chaotic in death and it had been in life.

Several people have come forward since Brown's death claiming to be his descendants, and one such, 48-year-old LaRhonda Pettit, has claimed the singer's body was stolen from his legitimate daughter Deanna's home in South Carolina in order to prevent his true cause of death becoming known.

"My daddy's body has disappeared,” said Pettit. "I have no clue where it was taken but I need to know where it is. I'm convinced his death was suspicious and I want those responsible brought to justice."

Despite having been formally buried in 2007 following months of legal wrangling, Brown's remains were dug up in preparation for the unveiling of a purpose-built mausoleum.

Am I the only one confused? This article makes very little sense the way it's worded...

"Several people have come forward since Brown's death claiming to be his descendants, and one such, 48-year-old LaRhonda Pettit, has claimed the singer's body was stolen from his legitimate daughter Deanna's home in South Carolina in order to prevent his true cause of death becoming known."

So a girl who claims to be James Brown's daughter, which is unproven, claims that his body was stolen from his actual daughter's house to prevent his true cause of death becoming known.

That's what I'm getting and it makes no sense. Why would James Brown's daughter have her dad's body in her house is my first question. Why would this person who has no proven relation to James Brown even know if his body was taken from his actual daughter's house? And why would they want to prevent the cause of death becoming known? Don't we already know it?

This sounds like it was taking from the Enquirer or something, there's no facts at all just crazy ramblings from a crazy lady who decided she was James Brown's daughter after he died.

I don't think you're confused. I think the article simply doesn't make much sense. It was poorly written.

Pure bullshit, nonetheless.

Well that sucks, because whoever theoretically stole that body was probably singing:

Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
