Well this sucks, but I'm not surprised. Record companies have failed Ra for the last time.
| |
who was that guy who always used to go on about Ra
| |
kintups. That was my past account haha!
| |
oh yeah that's the one
| |
This guy Sahaj sounds like a major egotistical douche...
| |
definitely thought this was about sun ra
| |
"This guy Sahaj sounds like a major egotistical douche..."
He's actually the complete opposite, he's just super excited for his solo album (which he's working like mad on).
| |
^are you guys dating
| |
No, I just know him. If I was a girl I might though hehheh. Seriously though, anyone sorry to hear that Ra is slowly fading?
| |
To be honest, I completely forgot Ra even existed up until I read this. A couple of my friends used to like them back in the day though.
| |
I like how he takes a swipe at 10 Years when they are better than Ra
| |
i only liked one song by them. so yeah.
| |
good article title, made me laugh
| |
i thought this was about sun ra.
who cares about numetal fuck
| |
lmao no one cares
| |
I'd hate to go to a funeral with you guys:
"I thought this funeral was for someone else - I forgot this guy existed. Ah well, he sounds like a major egotistical douche, and his brother is better than him anyway. He only did one good thing in his life."
| |
good riddance
| |
What, do you expect us to fellate these guys just cause they're over, even though they were pretty much terrible?
| |
If someone you knew died would you not show respect in his passing even if you hated him?
| |
Yeah.
| |
If someone you knew died would you not show respect in his passing even if you hated him?
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm nope
that's completely different. no one's dying. a shit band is just... not playing anymore.
| |
KINTUPS
| |
@ PanasonicYouth: "mmmmmmmmmmmm nope" God help us.
@ bloc: 'sup BLOC!
| |
kinda sad, but w.e
| |
this is the band with that one song right?
Yup, that was them...
| |
I like this band, please don't disband.
| |
RAAAAAAAA *screeches* *runs away*
| |
Band had some good songs on From One, but everything else was pretty awful.
| |
From One is an old favorite of mine. I think radio bands could take note from RA's earlier work. This is pretty sad.
| |
"I like how he takes a swipe at 10 Years when they are better than Ra"
Gotta disagree with that, From One annihilates anything I have heard from 10 years.
| |
I hear the food's real good in Uranus.
| |
It's his own fault for fucking up with the money on Duality.
| |
^^^
Good point. Know the terms of your contract.
| |
Bah, record companies have screwed him over countless times. Ex. Cement Shoes Records released Ra's live album and then dumped them. Shoes even lost Ra's live DVD that Ra created by hand.
| |
That doesn't change the fact that he didn't know where the money was going for Duality and how to manage it. Either way, it was promoted just fine around where I live, and it doesn't change the fact that the album just wasn't very good.
| |
He is a musician, not an accountant. Do you think Nickelbacks label makes Chad Kroeger manage the money? Ra just wasn't marketable enough for the label to give full support, and they didn't give enough of a shit to make sure Ra was on the right path. End of story. And From One was a really good album and would have been a step up for radio rock had it gotten the support it deserved.
| |
I'm not talking about From One, I'm talking about Duality. From One is a solid album. And yeah, he's not an accountant...it doesn't mean that he shouldn't know what is happening with the money that his band is given/earns. Ra doesn't need an accountant because they clearly don't make enough money to warrant one. Nickelback is a different story.
| |
All I'm saying is that I'm sure if the record company wanted to support Ra they wouldn't have let that happen. Labels are greedy and aren't going to give an artist the chance to waste their money.
| |
Yes, labels are greedy and everyone knows it. That includes sahaj. I just don't think you can pin the fact that he didn't use the money wisely on the label. And i also don't think you can pin poor sales on poor promotion. Like I said before, I heard Fallen Angels plenty of times on the radio...and I don't listen to radio. The album was promoted fine around where I live. It just wasn't very good (IMO).
| |
Lol.
| |
Ah, come on, why did I have to read this right after I started listening to them?
| |
