couldn't get into this album, kinda agree with boognish, esp. with lyrics like "I love you jesus christ" during the opening minute of one song...I mean could he not have phrased his love for his religion in a more poetic and original way?

Labeling NMH as a band only hipsters listen to is a bit naive, I found them all on my own and enjoy their music without having someone else tell me how 'cool' it is. The problem with bringing up the hipster point only shows that you care too much about what others think of your musical selections, thus you try to be ironic and hate what everyone else likes just to seem insightful. In turn making you the cliche hipster. Funny how that works huh?

Album is ok, definitely not great. I have it only because at one point it felt like something I kind of needed to have, but I rarely listen to it anymore.

I'm not embarrassed to admit this is my favorite album ever. It's very close and personal to me, but whatever, if you don't like it, you don't like it. That's fine with me, and it doesn't necessarily mean Boognish doesn't "get it" just because it didn't have the same impact on him as it did on me.

I bought In The Aeroplane Over The Sea last night on impulse... On the first listen i fell in love. Seriously, this is amazing. Yeah, its lo-fi indie, and yeah, its a hipster album. But i see it as one of those things that while its so "cliche" to like, maybe it just deserves all the praise it gets. Kinda like Fight Club. For so many years i refused to read or watch it... half a bottle of vodka later and i was watching one of the most amazing movies ever. So i guess my analogy here is, on an impulse buy cause of talk of it on sputnik, i've found my latest classic album. cheers.
