Actually there's a pretty cool outfit from Hungary who sound like a ressurected incarnation of Arcturus. They even have the gay artwork with with those fruity pirate outfits. But insetad of being solely avant garde, they're like techno/power metal/alternative, extreme metal. Damned Spirits' Dance is the band.

Even though I've very much enjoyed their pre-Stormblast MMV material and remain a fan, I don't see how they can pull off something even nearly as good as their earlier material now.

I doubt they can make an album as good as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, but I can totally see them making another over-the-top ultra-symphonic album like Death Cult Armageddon

I'd say Spiritual Black Dimensions is their most symphonic album while DCA is more apocalypse-oriented sounds/effects, but obviously we're not going to see another EDT.

Hopefully they sound more like old Dimmu Borgir with their new album. I highly doubt it though.

Balls, I checked DSD. The only song they had on YouTube was one called "TSS". A not so greatly recorded live performance, but I managed to hear some wonderful keyboards. Will look for full length albums.

but on the topic, now that they have no clean vocals and keyboards, i suppose they are trying for a rawer feel? maybe like For All Tid? because i dont recall either on that album...but im not sure if it will work, because it really did help their symphonic sound.

Im amazed at the ignorance that goes in this thread. Shagrath is going to do keyboards for the next album if they don't find a keyboard player, but maybe they will shift their sound to their older albums.
Anyways to the people who call this band a ripoff from Emperor here is a news flash: DB sound nothing like emperor!
Emperor has a much more chaotic sound, the vocals are different, and the focus on keyboards are much different.
Also this band is not even close to tvue or kvlt and theyre not trying to be. Its SYMPHONIC black metal, a separate genre from black metal. They just choose to use corpsepaint, but that does not affect the music they make. Sure, they may not be the best Symphonic black metal band (IMO there is no "best" and "worst" band, or best or worst album overall either) but they are still good at what they do.
Who cares if they use an orchestra or whatever they fucking want in an album? It's the band's choice, it makes the symphonic effects more powerful, and there are not many albums that use this to record. If you don't like it simply don't buy their albums and don't download their music. Just ignore it, go praise the band's that you like instead of hating those that you hate.
