If bands are actually ruined for you by Guitar Hero then you are a pathetic music fan.
Also, Zakk Wylde is going to make Bring the Noise the worst song ever.

Gh is so much better than RB.

Elliott Smith Guitar Hero! Nail Miss Misery on expert!

Which would you rather do? Pay hundreds of dollars for a new instrument, plus lessons, and practice a few years before you start a band that ultimately doesn't get you anywhere? Or pay 90 bucks for a video game and some plastic instruments and instant gratification.
I play bass for real but playing drums and guitar on GH is incredibly fun for me.

Elliott Smith was a pure musical genius. Anyone who states otherwise has either not listened to his music enough or does not understand anything about music.

@ henchmanofsanta
I think it's a bit misleading to compare trying to become famous in a band and being able to be gratified by guitar hero.
For someone who has played guitar for 10 years, and played a bit of guitar hero, I find the game to be only slightly less of a challenge for much less of a reward.
That is, you practice hard to succeed, but you are not even really making the sound.
Even if you never form a band or have success, the fact that you are truly making music, rather than just approximating it, surely makes the real thing more worthwhile
|
| |
yea except that is assuming you're looking for a "reward" for playing video games, which nobody in their right mind ever is...
people need to let GH and RB go it's just an active way to listen to music...to "play" your music...the reward is intrinsic. it's also social, to a certain degree.
|
| |
that was @alza
|
| |
and if your goal in music is to become famous and shit, then it's more difficult to succeed. I personally am into making music for the experience of creating it. Actually creating the music yourself is for me a whole lot more worthwhile than pushing a few buttons. It's relative really.
|
| |
yea except nobody who exclusively chooses guitar hero over an actual guitar has a goal in music, other than listening to it
|
| |
they shouldve put angeles.
