The Swell Season will release their third album, Strict Joy, on September 28.
The pair, Irish singer/songwriter Glen Hansard and Czech singer Market Irglova, won an Oscar in 2008 under their given names, but have increasingly referred to themselves as "The Swell Season" (the title of their 2006 debut album) since.
In addition to Hansard and Irglova, the record features Frames members Colm Mac Iomaire (violin), Joe Doyle (bass), Rob Bochnik (guitar) and guitarist Javier Mas (Leonard Cohen), pianist Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), percussionists Graham Hopkins and Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground Duo), horn players Steven Bernstein and Clark Gayton from Levon Helm’s band.
