Opeth Steal Video Game Thunder

2009-07-17 by KYZAR | 32 Comments
Sputnik favorite Opeth have revealed on their site that their song 'The Lotus Eater' (from 2008's Watershed) will be included in the new PSP game Saints Row.

Unfortunately, the developers had not yet gotten around to revealing the game's existence to either press or public, making the Swedish band the unwitting harbingers of a world exclusive.

A statement on the band's website reads: "We may not like playing videogames, but we do like it when our music is featured in them! Makes us a bit proud even when it's a game as big as Saints Row for the PSP," the band continues, apparently content with their music appearing in a game that lingers in GTA IV's shadow, "and even prouder when the nice developer people show excellent taste by picking 'The Lotus Eater' for it.

"So if you love playing video games: the game is expected to hit the streets around March 2010."

well I'm an Opeth fan boy, and a huge gamer, so this is good news to me.

the fact that this got featured in a game informer article is even better. GI is like the sputnikmusic of the gaming world.

To bad its a game on a PSP, do people still play on those portable game consoles. Seems like a waste
