If Decemberunderground is any indication this will probably be mediocre.

I honestly think this release will be better than Decemberunderground. I think they're way beyond that stage in life that came along with DU, and I can tell that purely on the fact they don't look like a bunch of goons any more. Especially Davey who doesn't look like Jeffree Star, and thank god for that.

I feel that this album will be straight up rock, and it will be as good or better than DU (although I really doubt it can match STS).

"...personally, I've never been more proud of an AFI record."

is it just me or doesn't every single band say those EXACT same words prior to the release of their new album?

haha but anyway i'm hoping this will remind me of STS...at least it should be better than DU

haha ^ I've yet to hear a band say, "Yeah, we didn't really put too much effort into this one... whatever, go buy it anyway."

I liked Decemberunderground, though?

well it's ok, i like it well enough. Sing The Sorrow is wayyy better though.

from what i've been reading, it should be a pretty good album. they're dropping the synth direction they went with on DU, more guitar driven, went to their old recording studio( where they were before StS), Davey's got a new vocal style that shits all over DU stuff, and they don't look like faggots anymore.

Cautiously optimistic...the way their albums have progressed scares me though.

none of the band members really mentioned anything about DU up to its release, as if they were ashamed of it, whereas with this album hunter seems pretty excited about it by the looks of his twitter comments, so it should at least be pretty good

I don't understand why no one has mentioned wanting the album to be more like the band's pre Sing The Sorrow punk/hardcore material, which was actually their best period.

I'd like that, although I'm pretty sure that it's not going to happen.

As much as I like them this album will probably blow as bad as Decemberunderground. Lately crappy titles equals crappy record i.e. 21st Century Beakdown

I doubt this will be as good as Black Sails In The Sunset. Oh, well, as long as they forget all their U2 influences and start making good ol' gothpunk or whatever you wanna call it, its fine with me

Dammit, I loathe U2 with a passion

i love DU too, but yeah let us hope they drop the electronic samples and go for a more "The Art Of Drowning" sound now, BOUT DAMN TIME THEY RELEASE A NEW RECORD

I doubt this will "Mirror" Decemberunderground as that word from the kids who "won" to sing on the album is the new tracks are pretty intense. Some even suggesting an Art of Drowning similarity.
