I liked her contributions. I thought the album was kind of a let down mostly due to the vocals and the similar pace of each song.

Violins are one of the coolest instruments on the planet. More metal bands need to use that AKA Ms or Mrs Anna Phoebe style.

Oh hells no, that didn't come out of my mouth (or fingers, I guess). As long as they don't get all folky I'll be the first to ask for more violins on the next album.

I don't know how Virgin Black got past you tbh. Amazing Australian metal band. They are pretty doomy but more pretentious and classical based much less more awesome than My Dying Bride. Opinionated of course but they write massive songs.

I finally cleared my list of stuff to check out over the weekend, but have already added Isis to it now - Virgin Black will be after that.
