Haha don't worry Dougie, Pearogram is on there under a different name :D
Can't wait to hear Change, so excited. We have at least three epics over ten minutes in New Day, Deadman and Change which should be pretty damn sweet.
I've already preordered :D

I think Change should have started the album, bit odd that it ends it.

How do you know so much?

And yeah, the main reason I'd want it on the front end, is so I could run the albums back to back and it would flow.

Have to add I'm really anticipating Change (Part 2), Part 1 featured the most intoxicating melody for me on Themata (roughly from 3 mins in until the wall of distortion hits).

So if you like the sound of
The glass that breaks against the wall
I'd trade it all for several
Pieces of your anger
I am the interest of your heart
Say this will wash away
I'm climbing this rope I feel God
Would you care to stare me down
I portray you in different light

In comes part two for the 12 minute epic!!!!!!!!!1This Message Edited On 05.18.09

I was sort of hoping that Change Pt. 2 would open up this album so they could be played back-to-back, but I'm pleased that they even made a second part. Deadman is a sick song, and the art indicates there will be much prog on this album.

Finally good to hear a recorded version of All I Know too, makes me very happy. Kinda reminds me of COTE.
Fitting lyrics too: "This is my take on reality, this is proof of my coming of age"

"Karnivool are back with their second album Sound Awake, an album so epic it's been four years in the making. With as many soaring vocals as there are complex time signatures, this is prog-rock that's crammed with sonic depth. Sound Awake is also more of a collaborative effort for Karnivool, with all of the band involved in the writing process. On the eve of their hugely anticipated national tour, sink your teeth into Sound Awake by Karnivool, our feature all this week on triple j."

First Review:

He’s not wrong. Intuitive, left-field and, without doubt, a major departure from 'Themata', the sprawling opus of 'Sound Awake' is an album of detours and sojourns, where every song takes its own path, irrespective of convention or traditional structure. From the leviathan-sized bass growl of opener 'Simpleboy' (“the bass sound like a circular saw being dragged through an elephant’s graveyard,” quips Jono), to the lurching groove, belching bottom-end and jazz-metal stylings of 'Goliath', it’s immediately clear Karnivool have stepped things up a notch, both musically and sonically. Ian Kenny is clearly one of Australia’s finest vocalists, his high emotive voice ringing out over 'New Day' and giving wings to Karnivool’s epic new tangent of songwriting. The spastic punk-prog fusion of first single 'Set Fire To The Hive', with its staccato riff, hornets nest guitar-motif and demented choir, is totally new for the band, as are the spacious, lush atmospherics of 'Umbra'. Boasting a powerhouse chorus, 'All I Know' intertwines sinuous guitar riffery against a cavalcade of overlapping delays, before the eerie melancholic falsetto of 'The Medicine Wears Off' serves as intermission piece into 'Sound Awake's second half. Unleashing two of their most dazzling pieces of musical wizardry, 'The Caudal Lure' and 'Illumine' both explore complex riffing ‘algo-rhythms’, and yet they’re somehow made sense of by Kenny’s startling melodies. The mighty ten-minute epic 'Deadman' then unfolds in ascending, spectacular fashion. From there, Karnivool reprise 'Themata's 'Change: Part One', reworking it in free-time against a sinister xylophone and allowing it to introduce 'Sound Awake’s climatic, thunderous closer, 'Change: Part Two'. As Kenny’s cryptic mantra of “Hello, hollow, halo” raises the hairs on the back of one’s neck, the song moves through myriad of movements and dynamics, from full-tilt rifforama to broken-down acoustic strumming.

many many times.

Cant wait to hear Change, i like the sound of a sinister xylophone. Also, the reworking of change part 1 sounds interesting.
So far ive heard studios of: Set Fire, All I Know, New Day, Goliath, The Caudal Lure and Illumine.

Oh and the track times are wrong, my bad.

I've heard quite a couple already: All I Know, Set Fire and Goliath, New Day, Umbra. Didn't really dig Goliath but the rest, my god. I'd like to stick to that though as I want the album to still catch me off guard somewhat. Planning to write a review for it and I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if it isn't going to be a 4 or 4.5 right away.
