Digging: Beach House - Teen Dream
|
| |
holy shit that was awesome
Digging: Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment
|
| |
Lol can anybody say Bedlam In Goliath 2.0?
|
| |
Okay, so I actually didn't mind it that much. And Since We've Been Wrong looks like it might actually be a good song.
|
| |
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Not great, though.
Digging: The Red Chord - Fed Through the Teeth Machine
|
| |
I don't want more of the same, but nevertheless I enjoyed that. It makes a better single than Wax Simulcra.
Digging: Bruce Springsteen - The Rising
|
| |
pretty good
Digging: Junius - The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist
|
| |
It sounds a lot better than any track on Bedlam, but I noticed there was an absent of sax/winds from the two tracks from this album i've heard so far.
Digging: Opeth - Damnation
|
| |
Nice songs. Can't wait for this album. Got June 23rd plugged in my phone.
Also, oathfbass is right; I heard no sax! Let's hope they still use it frequently in this album.
Digging: Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much
|
| |
I also forgot to mention that the drummer has toned down a bit which I think is a good thing.
|
| |
I liked it it does sound like TBIG but its good. Also I'm glad they didn't decide to go with the doing only acoustic songs that lasted 3 minutes.
Digging: Future Of The Left - Travels With Myself And Another
|
| |
well that was better than anything on Bedlam. I'm looking forward to this now.
Digging: The Red Chord - Fed Through the Teeth Machine
|
| |
Bedlam ruled.
Digging: Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet - The Fountain
|
| |
Bedlam didn't rule when comparing it to Deloused and Frances.
|
| |
I agree with Deloused... I still haven't heard Frances...
|
| |
I would rank amp over bedlam
|
| |
good song, still dubious that they'll ever make anything as good as deloused or frances again
Digging: Brand New - Daisy
|
| |
That was really good, thinking this might surpass bedlam from what ive heard.
Digging: Emery - ...In Shallow Seas We Sail
|
| |
both tracks were sweet
Digging: Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue
|
| |
Loved it. was Bedlam pretty good? I only have De-loused and Frances the Mute...
Digging: Monsters of Folk - Monsters of Folk

They were ok, but still think there is better stuff off of bedlam
Digging: Opeth - Ghost Reveries |

sounds like the mars volta. im getting bored of their sound so i was really hoping they would release the acoustic album, i need something different from them
Digging: DJ Douggpound - Pound It |
| |
Finally got de-loused. Found it for 2 bucks. I'll have to see if it's everything and more.
Digging: Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted
|
| |
I really liked this song. I've pretty much enjoyed all of their albums, especially de-loused and bedlam. I think Frances would be my number 1 if it weren't for all of the gaps where no music is played. I don't care if it's "part of the story" and "symbolic of the main character's journey," I don't need to hear four minutes of silence in the middle of a song interjected with tweets and frog noises.
|
| |
Hmm, not a bad track. Nothing remarkable or ground-breaking, but sounds like a solid single.
Digging: Converge - Axe To Fall
|
| |
Pretty good. I can see they're no longer trying to impress everyone and just playing music.
Digging: dredg - The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion
|
| |
i was really hoping they would release the acoustic album
This is from their acoustic album, it just isn't going to be entirely acoustic.
|
| |
That was awesome, love the drag the lake refrence being brought back. i cant wait for this album to leak.
Digging: The Mars Volta - Octahedron
|
| |
Sounds like a radio edit to me, around the 1:30 mark.
I suspect the album version will be longer.
Digging: Hella - There's No 666 In Outer Space

I'm pretty sure you're right about that. Awesome song nevertheless.
Digging: Maps and Atlases - Tree, Swallows, Houses

Yeah it probably is since it is a single out in the UK.

liked a lot...
Digging: Minus The Bear - Planet Of Ice

What kind of alternative rock have you been listening to? Good bands change over time and it's a good thing they haven't tried to replicate De-Loused on each album.
|
| |
I sort of like 'The Pridge'...

Theodore is my favorite of the two, but the guy above has no iea what he's talking about. This song was very well written.

the pridge is like a handjob...excitin and fresh but a lot of times pales in comparison to...theodore, choking le chicken...who always did exactly what you wanted him to and, in the end, you were much more satisfied
but the pridge is young so he has time to get better...
|
| |
lol what the hell are you talking about?
|

pridgejobs, I think

Jon was amazing, but he's right about Pridgent being better for volta. I'm not sure of the exact details as of why he ever left, I just remember him stating in a magazine that it was the best for everyone. Hmm...
|
| |
i think john just didnt enjoy the direction tmv was going in, plus he has like 10 bands he is in. omar compared john to a girlfriend who doesnt like your friends and doesnt laugh at your jokes. hahah i think he was just over it, and wanted to move on.
|
| |
nice pie chart MaskAtTheMasquerade you see to many ppl with good pie charts on here like that. it seems to be mostly metal heads. i love to see ppl who have a vast taste in music. so kudos to your pie chart

Yeah someone told me something about that if I remember correctly. Lol being compared to a crap-like girlfriend is no fun.

Since We've Been Wrong, live acoustic version, from New Years Eve 2007/2008:

I'm pretty sure Jon didn't like being in a back up band. Pridgen is young and dumb and probably cares more about being a rock star than being a musician, which is perfect for backing up Omar & Cedric. This Message Edited On 04.26.09

I see what you're saying Iluvator. And this song is good, but they really should try some other stuff out. It all sounds very typical Volta to me, with out much development.
Digging: Miley Cyrus - Breakout

Since We've Been Wrong is pretty different really.
|

wow...
I don't know if that was good or bad. saying wow seems to cover me either way.

No, you're right that song. I meant Cotopaxi. It's just like hykinix said, "Bedlam 2.0"
|
| |
Well I mean I think Cotopaxi would be the single because it is energetic and streamlined just like most of Bedlam.
|
| |
Song is v. good.
Digging: Owl City - Ocean Eyes
|
| |
Yeah. I definitely wouldn't mind if they did another album as aggressive as Bedlam was.
|
| |
Wow, that was seriously good!
Digging: Steven Wilson - Insurgentes
|
| |
theodore > pridgen!
but yeah i must say the new song does sound good.
atleast omar is learning that this isnt just another solo project, maybe well get lucky and end up with something even moderately close to deloused or frances. This Message Edited On 04.27.09

The middle part = 21st Century Schizoid Man
Does anybody else notice this. This is better then any other MV song I've heard, and yet, I still don't like it.

No, you're right that song. I meant Cotopaxi. It's just like hykinix said, "Bedlam 2.0"
Well omar said the album wud be like the sequel to bedlam...highlighting the mellow as bedlam highlighted the hectic...
|
| |
^ Ah I was not aware that was mentioned by him. Makes more sense now I suppose, albeit, you can't say Cotopaxi is at all mellow.
|
| |
If you look at the comments someone said the albums leaked.
btw are digs currently bugged atm?
|
| |
yea they're very late to show up...
^ Ah I was not aware that was mentioned by him. Makes more sense now I suppose, albeit, you can't say Cotopaxi is at all mellow.
u also can't say Tourniquet Man or Soothsayer are hectic (for lack of a better word i probably should have used)...even when they said it would be an acoustic album it was always in quotes...this will be much more mellow as a whole, but there will be crazyiness like bedlam as well...why i think this will be yummyThis Message Edited On 04.27.09

"yea they're very late to show up..."
That explains it. Thanks.
Can't wait to hear this albums Cassandra Gemni like track
|

I was a huge fan of the aggresive stance TBIG took so I'm excited about this. Having loved everything from this band, I'm looking forward to softer acoustic elements too!
Albums for me go...
De-loused > TBIG > Amp/Frances > Tremulant
Digging: Nile - In The Beginning
|
| |
Bedlam is complete incoherent garbage. Unlike Deloused and Frances, they didn't write any songs on Bedlam, just wanked their guitars and sweeped the trumpets everytime they wanted to throw a creative bit in. This better go back to the way they used to write.
|
| |
That was kinda meh, but I want so bad for this to be awesome.
