New Placebo Brings Changes

2009-04-12 by PuddleSwimmer | 9 Comments
The London alternative rockers Placebo will be releasing their sixth studio album, Battle For The Sun on June 8th. The record was produced by David Bottrill (Ænima, Origin Of Symmetry, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star) and was engineered by James Brown.

Lead singer Brian Molko has stated at least three main changes in the new album that makes it different than their previous:

1. New drummer Steve Forrest has replaced Steve Hewitt.

2. The band exercises their more experimental side by including brass instruments like trumpets and saxophones.

3. This is the first time Placebo will be releasing a 'thematic' album, where it's more of a story being told than a collection of songs.

his voice is so annoying outside their music lol.

album sounds...interesting. thematic placebo has massive potential, and the single is pretty good.

I've only heard their lead single, Battle For The Sun and it was so shit. Which is dissapointing because I actually really like them.

Can't wait for the album, and hopefully a tour, they're one of the best live bands I've seen.

The single was pretty avarage, but the lead from their last album was one of the worst songs on it so I'm still hopeful.

My gf loves them. They're not bad, really, they're ehhh ok every-so-often. I think their new stuff will grab me more, though.

I don't know where I stand on his voice yet
Going on about 6 years of listening....
