The Absence Album Update

2009-03-24 by Zoo | 12 Comments
The Absence guitarist Patrick Pintavalle has issued an update on their next album on the band's official Myspace blog.

"WHATS UP METAL HEADS? I HAVE SOME NEWS FOR YOU. AS SOME OF YOU KNOW WE ARE WRITING FOR OUR THIRD FULL LENGTH ALBUM. ITS BEEN A BIT OF A SLOW GOING THING. WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE A RECORD THAT HAS A CLASSIC AND TIMELESS FEEL TO IT. SOME OF YOU MAY ALSO KNOW THAT RIDERS OF THE PLAGUE IS GOING TO BE A HARD ALBUM TO TOP. WE ARE DOING WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO DO JUST THAT. WE HAVE SOME IDEAS UP OUR SLEEVES TO INVOLVE YOU FANS ON THIS NEXT RECORD AS WELL. THE LAST TIME WE HAD MANY OF OUR FANS PUT THEIR NAMES IN OUR CD INSERT. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR SOMETHING A WHOLE LOT COOLER THAN THAT.

THE MUSIC IS COMING ALONG. WE WILL BE POSTING VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE PRE-PRODUCTION AND THE RECORDING IN THE MONTHS TO COME. THATS ALL FOR NOW."

From Your Grave was better than Riders of the Plague tbh.

But these guys are probably my favorite American death metal band, stoked for this.

Yeah, From Your Grave>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Riders of the Plague.

Riders of the Plague was just too melodic for me. The thrash on on From Your Grave was some of the best thrash I have ever heard. In fact, the only great song on Riders of the Plague was the song Riders of the Plague because it was so damn thrashy it was amaaaaaazing.

i remember seeing these guys before From Your Grave.
they used to be all the rage over here in Tampa.

riders of the plague was disappointing, felt like they lost touch with their core motivation for writing music

It better be more like From Your Grave and less like Riders Of The Plague, but I doubt it as the drummer from that album left shortly after it was released, so maybe that was what affected ROTP.

We shall see.

Oh and The Absence are clearly Captain Capslocks. This Message Edited On 03.25.09

word on that^

I've listened to ROTP far more than FYG. Not that its bad or anything but at the end of the day it just felt like they were emulating At The Gates, old In Flames, Arch Enemy etc.
