2009-01-23 by Phantom | 14 Comments
The homepage of Cleveland metal band Chimaira has recently changed, and is slowly revealing artwork for their forthcoming album The Infection, which is the follow up to the band's 2007 album Resurrection.

The page has the artwork and tracklist covered by a grey/stone block which are being removed piece by piece to reveal sections of the art, as well as track names.

The Infection is due out on April 21st through Ferret (US) and Nuclear Blast (Europe)

Resurrection was pretty boring for me so I'm thinking this might be similar...

chimaira has consistently been on my ipod whenever i'm at the gym, or running, or setting fire to hippies (along with Slayer and DEP of course). i'll pick it up, they typically make some decent metal

Still haven't really impressed since IoR. I really like these guys, so I hope it's good.

2007 Self-titled..?

I'm anxious to hear it, they can grow so much more than they already have.

You prefer IoR to the self-titled?

And thanks for pointing that out zuzek, I meant to put Resurrection.

yeah. I don't dislike the s/t, but Impossibility had many more highlights, and the best overall sound.

I liked resurrection enough to check this out. Can't wait to see if how/if they've improved

Resurrection was decent like pretty much all their albums. I can't see them changing their sound much though so looks like just another solid release for Chimaira's ever expanding back catalogue. This Message Edited On 01.23.09

I don't see the need for them to change THAT much. They're solid as they are. Maybe with a few changes they could be better but happy with what they do.

S/T is my favourite album, but "Implements..." is deifnitely my favourite track by the band.

I think these guys are decent...but they are incredibly generic at times. Decent live though.

Yeah Resurrection wasn't as good as previous albums. But this could be quite good.
