2008-11-25 by Thor | 49 Comments
Gore-fathers of death metal Cannibal Corpse were recently shot and interviewed for the cover of Decibel Magazine’s special year end issue on newsstands December 4. The photo shoot took place in St. Petersburg, FL in October just as the band was finishing up recording their upcoming release Evisceration Plague at Mana Recording Studios with producer Erik Rutan.

Evisceration Plague marks Cannibal Corpse’s 11th full-length studio release and will be unleashed upon the world on February 3, 2009.

The track listing is:
1. Priests of Sodom
2. Scalding Hail
3. To Decompose
4. A Cauldron of Hate
5. Beheading and Burning
6. Evidence in the Furnace
7. Carnivorous Swarm
8. Evisceration Plague
9. Shatter Their Bones
10. Carrion Sculpted Entity
11. Unnatural
12. Skewered From Ear to Eye

Hopefully it will be more along the lines of Kill. That is the only CC album I can really stomach.

Last 3 albums are the good ones, the rest is intolerable. Especially stuff with Barnes. He fits SFU much better, even though SFU are generic.
If it sounds like kill, i'll love it.

Why would Decibel Magazine shoot the members of Cannibal Corpse?

Any news on whether or not they will survive?

*bad joke*

"Gore-fathers of death metal Cannibal Corpse were recently shot" saw this and i was all like and then read the rest and was thoroughly disapointed
"addicted to vaginal skin" is the best CC track title

*death scream "I...WILL...KILL...YOU!!!!"

shredding the whole time

seriously guys, listen to something better than this "music"

This isn't really that new news, but i'm really looking forward to this. The song titles are definitely different from their previous stuff. Priests of Sodom just doesn't sound like a CC song.

no its a string quartet album...CC has never appealled to me, I think its because with their song titles/lyrics I can't really take them serious. Also, their music isn't that interesting to get over the bad lyrics

both bands have a brilliant ear for catchy pop rock
of which i prefer to screaming. but over 84% of your music taste is some kind of metal, so i spose you call that 'girl metal'

ironpriest... gtfo and leave extreme metal alone. Go to your fucking pop rock/metal and leave us alone.

These guys had an enormous influence not on just death metal but extreme metal in general. you cant name a single metalhead who hasn't at least HEARD hammer smashed face.

I am guessing this will be boring like all of there albums. Also, everyone leave Ironpriest alone. Sure, he has shit for brains taste, but I have to agree with him on one thing (even though these bands aren't really comparable at all): Motley Crue >>>> Cannibal Corpse except for "Hammer Smashed Face".

And CC know how to write death metal.

Man, my album ratings are at least like ****ing two years old with the exception of a couple. I really don't update that ****. I'm much too lazy and my tastes have changed a good bit. I listen to a lot of classic rock, prog rock, post rock, and I'm into romantic era composition lately. Of course metal is still my favorite.

I'm not even a huge fan of CC, but to imply that their music isn't music is just stupid. You may not like death metal, but they've had a huge impact on that entire genre of music. This Message Edited On 11.27.08

I don't really blame ironpriest for not liking "The Time to Kill Is Now" which is fine because its one of the heaviest on the album, but to reject it as music is just childish.

Dude "Drowning in Viscera" best song title.

To Ironpriest:

"go listen to the final countdown by Europe on repeat"

How can CC be boring. i like to use the word tradtional than boring. trad death metal was barbarian and should stay that way. if CC went tech or threw in a breakdown. there would be an uprising in the metal community. they are and always will be relevant.
