Will New Order Reunite?

They were responsible for some of the most iconic dancefloor tracks of the ‘80s – from “Blue Monday” to “Bizarre Live Triangle” – and formed from the ashes of Joy Division, the seminal Manchester band. Now former New Order bassist Peter Hook says it’s hard to say whether the trio will ever resurface – despite members recently collaborating with each other.

“I just felt it was like an empty shell, New Order,” says the musician of his decision to leave the band, announced during a tour of Brazil back in July 2007. “It really was for me. I can’t talk for the others... Bernard (Sumner, vocals/guitar) never came to me. Steve (Morris, drums) never came to me. So I just thought that’s the end of it.”

Hook says that, despite recently remastering the band’s five Factory Records albums for release later in the year, the future of New Order is uncertain. “I’ve no idea really,” he admitted, when asked by the BBC yesterday if the trio might reform. “Sometimes you wonder what you were arguing about.”

Oh wow, I never knew they even broke up! So yeah, I'm behind with the times!! I'm not too fussed about this, but my dad would probably love it if they got back together. To be fair, everybodys doing it these days...

The song and video to "True Faith" is the ultimate!

To be honest, I never knew they had officially broke up either.
