Ticketmaster Saddled With Debt

2008-06-27 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 6 Comments
In a turn of events that will sadden nobody, but will probably depress everybody, Ticketmaster has been released by its parent company LAC/InterActiveCorp.

Ticketmaste will act as an independent company from 2009, complete with a massive $750 million, a cost which will naturally be turned on to the consumer in the form of evermore inexplicable fees and charges.

A major factor in Ticketmaster's new direction appears to be a split with long-time client LiveNation, which was responsible for roughly 17% of Ticketmaster's $1 billion revenue in 2006, which will come into effect at the beginning of next year.

Stay tuned for more news and phantom charges.

Pretty soon the "convenience fee" is going to be as much as the actual ticket.

The charges for Iron Maiden equaled the ticket price. Boy was I laughing when my two tickets cost 80 instead of 40.

So ridiculous.
Concert price: $30.
Price when you get there: $50.
WHAT?! At least they sell $20 tickets w/ 2 free drinks @ the Rave.
