Bad Religion to record next album in 2009

2008-06-09 by Alex101 | 5 Comments
Bad Religion's deluxe reissue of New Maps of Hell may not have hit stores yet, but that hasn't stopped talk about the inevidable follow up. At the recent Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, an interviewer put the question to bassist Jay Bentley and drummer Brooks Wackerman. With frontman Greg Graffin set to teach at UCLA from January through March, the band may next hit the studio in April or May of 2009, with an album ready for June.

The deluxe edition of New Maps hits stores on July 8th, and will feature original album bolstered with seven acoustic tracks and a DVD. Graffin and Brett Gurewitz recently chatted with Rolling Stone about the project and the future of the music industry. Graffin was also recently the recipient of the Rushdie Award for Cultural Humanism from Harvard University.

I wonder if it will be "The Process of Belief part 4" or "The Atlantic Year part 5"

Awesome! Every time Bad Religion puts out an album, I'm always afraid that its going to be the last one...that will be a sad day, but I know it'll be here soon. I suspect that if this one gets made, it'll be the final one...so I'm hoping it's good!

WillieFisterbut - I'm hoping for "The Empire Strikes First, pt II," because that's been their best record for the 15 years or so...;-)This Message Edited On 06.10.08
