Tom Fischer's New Band 2008-05-22 by BallsToTheWall | 4 Comments | Former Celtic Frost frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer, who departed from his legendary proto-black-metal band last month, has announced the formation of his new band, Triptykon. The first audio sample, a track called “Crucifixus,” can be heard on Triptykon’s official MySpace page.
“Triptykon will sound as close to Celtic Frost as is humanly possible, and the album I am working on will feature all the material I envisioned for the successor to [Celtic Frost’s] Monotheist. I desire the album to be a darker, heavier, and slightly more experimental development of Monotheist," Fisher says.
“‘Crucifixus’ is but one of many compositions to that end. Triptykon is not defined by just this one song, however, just like Celtic Frost was not defined by ‘Totengott’ alone,” he added.

Seems like Tom is sort of going Lord Tim on us. Except Lord albums are already out and currently rocking faces, and all we have to go on for Triptykon is one underwhelming song.
Still, I'll wait for the album proper before I pass judgment.
As an aside, Tom is a spooky motherfucker. That scowl on his face makes it look like he's trying to hide the baby entrails on his lips while plotting the best way to kill anyone who saw.This Message Edited On 05.22.08
