Original Rush Drummer Dies

2008-05-13 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 14 Comments
Original Rush drummer John Rutsey has died at age 55. No further details are known at this point.

Rutsey was a member of the Canadian trio from their inception in 1968 until 1974. He played on the group's self-titled debut album before quitting due to creative differences and health problems, to be replaced by Atlas Shrugged devotee Neil Peart.

God, you scared me so bad. I just saw "Rush Drummer Dies" and thought Neil died.

However, we all know Neil will never really die. Shit's immortal.

same.

shame that he passed away though, 55 is fairly young to just randomly be dying. RIP.

I still occasionally listen to Working Man. Other than that, their debut album isn't too great. 55 is kind of young though. I mean that's how old the rest of the band is.
