Yeah weird. And, as far as the ones near me are concerned, I've never really seen an impressive selection at any.
iTunes, on the other hand, is great.

Who buys music at Wal-Mart?
You're all forgetting that if you're on this site then you're probably music lovers and require a better selection, whereas in Wal-mart you're going to get the mass Top-40 buying public who will impulse buy a CD just because it's on the end rack, so it should be no surprise that Walmart is number one in CD sales.

True, but when I go to my 4 wal-marts theres never any music advertised they're all just in the back on a single rack.

but they censor their cds! how uncool. i never buy anything there or itunes anyway. unless i have an itunes gift card. i usually get my stuff from these 3 places: best buy, fye, or the mad platter (greatest place on earth)

Amoeba and Rasputin own your shit don't tell me about record stores. Well, I might check it out.

Hm. Well, if you're shopping for albums at Best Buy, a place that doesn't even carry vinyl, I don't take you serious. This Message Edited On 02.27.08

Vinyl is obselete, let's be honest here.

WalMart surprises me. There is about two racks of censored CDs in the back of the store, or at least in my local one.

FYE is probably the most extensive CD chain store. I don't know of any good local record stores other than FYE where I live.

I usually go to best buy. they have the biggest selection out of all the chain stores and you can usually get a pretty decent price. I usually only use itunes for single song purchases, which I'm sure most of america does. and target is just pitiful for music.

Living near Philadelphia rules, because im only like 10 minutes from Relapse records, which is like the greatest place in the world for metal albums. not to mention all the other great places like, Repo records, and such, Also we have 'Tunes' in New jersey, which is a small chain with really good selection. I rarely shop anywhere else.

Let's be honest and admit that some people still listen to vinyl.

You're all saying how you're still confused because Walmart is censored and they only have two racks and stores like FYE and Best Buy have more... but those stores are still specialty stores that the average mom&pop consumer is never going to step into, so Walmart is still no surprise.

Let's be honest and admit that some people still listen to vinyl.
I have vinyl, but I transfered it all to my computer and tend not to listen to the originals to keep them in better shape. This Message Edited On 02.28.08

I totally agree with "A_Guy". I never knew people buy music at Wal-Mart.
