Fall Out Boy Back Obama

2008-01-14 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 36 Comments
In the latest development in his transmorphication into Oprah, Pete Wentz has thrown his weight behind a low-dollar fundraiser for Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, a representative of his hometown Chicago.

Quote:
Inspired by Barack Obama’s compelling message of change, Pete Wentz is lending his support to the Obama campaign by hosting a low-dollar fundraiser. On January 22nd, Wentz will fly to his (and Barack’s) hometown to host a fundraiser.

“I’ve been an Obama supporter from day one,” says Wentz. “After watching the New Hampshire primary, I couldn’t just be an observer anymore – I had to act. Barack is the first politician who’s ever made me feel like our voices actually matter.”

Join Pete Wentz, special guest speaker Sara Feigenholtz (Illinois 12th District State Representative) and supporters from around Chicago.

Is it just me or did the Democratic party really shoot itself in the foot this year by having their two frontrunners vastly different and controversial than any other candidates before? A woman and a black man (who had ties to Islam as a child) are so far out on the left-side of the spectrum that it's going to kill them come election time...
That being said, whoop-de-doo Pete Wentz, glad to see you're too much of an idiot to realize how powerful your voice already is by being a teen star...

^lol. I think they did shoot themselves. They are so controvesial that it's going to backfire and we will be stuck with another republican. Either way, hillary or obama, undecided people are going to be wary of a woman or, no offense, a black man, and vote for the republican canadidate. Then America will be screwed another 4-8-years...This Message Edited On 01.15.08

It depends on who the Republican candidate is. If it's Huckabee winning that, I'm sure Democrats will roll all over them.

I don't see Huckabee winning that...although, Stephen Colbert said he's Huckabee's running mate...I want Colbert as prez with John Stewart as v.p.This Message Edited On 01.15.08

Actually I'm republican so I'm glad of this conundrum the democratic party finds itself in.

But yeah this is another reason to hate Pete Wentz.

I used to be a democrat for Ron Paul.

Then I got off the hype train and actually found out what his views were.

And now I'm proud to call myself a Barack supported.

BTW, guys, Win Butler (Arcade Fire, anyone?) also announced his support for Obama. Just so all you Obama supporters (me included) can still justify your candidate.
