Anthrax Announce New Singer

2007-12-11 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 8 Comments
Attempts to reconcile with John Bush having broken down once again, Anthrax have announced former Devilsize frontman Dan Nelson as their new singer. The news was announced last night during an online chat hosted by the band's fan club.

Said drummer Charlie Benante: "John Bush will not be coming back. He wants nothing to do with this. I/we love John, but he does not want to be the singer." He went on: "Scott and I really like this guy that Rob Caggiano told us about. His name is Dan Nelson and he can sing his ass off [...] So we had Dan come out and sing and we loved it, He's awesome. He's versatile and a metalhead."

Yeah, he sounds just like John Bush... I was looking forward to what potential could come from a new singer, but not if he sounds just like the old guy... my faith in them is gone now.

Hey, it's that shitty band that I hate that doesn't deserve to be a part of the big four.

When I saw the title I thought Corey Taylor had eventually joined. Thank god he didn't.

Dan nelson isn't a very metal name.

To be fair, Scott isn't a particularly metal name either.

The most metal name I ever heard was that of Savatage's touring singer before they went on indefinite hiatus: Damond Jiniya.

Anthrax were pretty useless after Among the Living from what I've heard. Persistence of Time was lame. This Message Edited On 12.12.07
