real bad
| |
If you told me this is Pearl Jam I would not believe you if I didn't see the title. This is really bad
| |
Really liking this on first listen and will be trying to catch these guys live this summer.
| |
Lightning Bolt came out 11 years ago. Crazy.
| |
This is a demo, right?
| |
At any rate, these kinds of choruses don't really suit PJ.
| |
Jesus, that was terrible. I like most PJ albums, but that guitar tone is ass and the chorus is not good. Almost certainly their worst lead single. I loved the one from Gigaton (albeit not enough to recall its name off the top of my head) -- it sounded like PJ doing Talking Heads. This sounds like PJ doing the bands that ripped them off and cheapened their sound.
| |
Sounds like Watt doing Watt things again. It's basically their fault for not trusting they can do an album by themselves anymore.
| |
damn I guess this album will also not be good
at least it's not gonna be a bait and switch like gigaton. dance of the clairvoyants is like the only song of theirs that's ever grabbed me post yield but it's so good lol
| |
song was good
| |
Not bad for a band of 60 year old men.
Yes, Eddie is 60.
| |
My hips are made of glass, todaaaay
| |
This is kinda ass but I’m surprised at how Eddie sounds. I always hated him but he really somehow manages to not be the worst part about this song.
What the fuck is this half ass guitar riff? The guitar work across the entire song is so lazy.
I actually completely agree with the take above, Eddie sounds fine for 60 (holy fucking shit man…)
| |
Andrew Watt is the death kneel of PJ.
| |
Lightning Bolt Vol. 3
| |
solo and eddie vocals are good, but as an overall song yeah this aint a fit for PJ and the production is trash
| |
The director of music production school who sign and gave this andrew watt his producer license should be send tied up and blindfolded into Siberia!
| |
Sounds like a B-tier Soundgarden song, which (imo) is better than most PJ; so not that bad.
Production is terrible, though.
| |
i hate andrew watt
| |
I looked him up and he seems like a pretty successful pop songwriter/producer. I heard the new Ozzy solo album, I didn’t like blow a load over it or anything but I don’t remember the production being bad.
I wanna know A) why pivot to rock all of the sudden, B) why does this sound like complete dogshit, and C) why pivot to rock all of the sudden, and why only do work for ancient bands lol
| |
ik that he and mccartney are good buds. mccartney was the one who patched him through to the stones
| |
'Dark Matter'...or how to bury the gentleman Edmund Vedder alive
his voice is getting beaten the shit out of in this mix
| |
quite like the song though, moderately...and I mean moderately...promising
| |
@onion
Okay this is making alot more sense now. The part about working with older musicians at least.
I truly do not give a shit, he’s not working with any bands I like so it’s not like I’m going all “sTaY oUt oF rEaL mUsIc” or something I’m just genuinely curious
| |
I think this is a situation where this song will work better as a middle point of the album as a whole. Its an odd choice for a single, but its a solid 6.5/10. Nothing Terrible, and Eddie sounds great, but again, it will probably work better on the album.
| |
I think this song sucks. There is nothing memorable about it and too many good Pearl Jam songs that I would rather listen to than this. One of the worst singles they've ever released.
| |
I would ask why people are still hanging on new Pearl Jam in 2024, but... it's always the iHeart rock stations that push it like it's a revelation. All they do is look backward.
I guess this is okay as background music. Which is what it in the car yesterday when they were slamming it through my earholes every hour.
| |
worrying
| |
Love Pearl Jam, but I haven’t liked their last few albums. This new single doesn’t do anything for me.
| |
Not bad.
| |
What a crap of a song
| |
Y'all are on some grumpy salt, this is pretty reminiscent of VS era Pearl Jam
| |
I didn't mind this song cause the comments here had me bracing for straight Dookie but it's not that bad
| |
yeah I agree, it isn't anything I'll ever listen to again but it's no more underwhelming than anything they've released since... yeah
| |
Sounds like creed
| |
lol remember celebrity deathmatch or whatever it was called
