song isn't too shabby, happy to hear anything from SS in 2023
| |
It's a lot better than I thought it would be. Maybe they did write a great album in all this time.
| |
Love this band! Song is awesome. Can't wait for the album.
| |
diggin the lil black metal they snuck in there
| |
Pretty good
| |
Pretty basic/generic but still solid. Scar in a nutshell. They're nothing if not consistent. Like the cleans.
| |
Disagree with it being basic or generic. They've got quite a distinct sound, even though it's built on rather basic tropes. But it's the combo of these tropes that works just right. I don't know any other band who plays quite like that.
Oh and check out those bass lines all around the song, no way in fuck a basic band would do that
| |
Totally agree with Sullen
| |
Basic? Haha are you fucking kidding
| |
glad theyre finally doing something about LA
| |
Did anyone else expect something 'bigger' for a damn near decade wait?
| |
oh they're supporting meshuggah tonight, neat!
| |
theres flug!!! get him!!!!1
| |
also scar symmetry sucks :D
| |
huh?
| |
we were looking for u
| |
doesn't suck - GM
| |
are you using the royal we?
shizo.
| |
general motors listens to scar symmetry wtf
no me in pizza n kusii
| |
The album is 11 tracks, 58 minutes. This is going to be the real deal.
| |
That album art is hilariously bad lol
| |
Must be their gimmick. All of their album covers are just as bad.
| |
But I like this song. Will be watching out for the LP. Have never actually listened to their other albums at all.
| |
cool that ben ellis is on this one but his style is so similar to per it's hard to tell who's who
| |
Only took *checks notes* 9 years.
| |
If not for life difficulties, it would have been released years sooner
Also I don't mind the cover art, it's a bit naive but has that silly cool factor their other covers don't have. PBP and HU covers are works of art btw
| |
Not precisely my cup of tea but the song is alright
| |
scar symmetry drop their pants
| |
Song plays things VERY safe, but it's solid. Great guitar solo from Per Nilsson as per usual (pun intended)
| |
Finally diving in now. Eagerly waiting to see how this stacks up after years of waiting.
"All of their album covers are just as bad." Nah Holographic Universe's cover rules, but everything about Holographic rules so it's a given.
| |
Anyways, song rules, Per shines as expected and the choruses are nice and catchy just like how I like my Scar Symmetry choruses. My expectations have been sated after a long wait, and it's certainly a good start, but it also makes me eager to see how good the rest of the album will be.
| |
Good song, but I really wish these guys would ever try new things with their sound.
| |
Disagree tbh, if it ain't broke don't fix it. That being said, this is supposed to be a trilogy so maybe there's a chance they could do some surprises with the last phase to finish it off (or hell, even the current phase).
| |
They just said in a comment that they go to some rarely explored places on this album, so we will see.
| |
Most bands lie when they say that, but I believe these guys
Their only problem is sticking to verse-chorus song formulas, really. But within these confines they're quite varied
| |
Good stuff
