I wonder if it will sound the same as every other ABR disc of the last decade, they are the EA Sports FIFA of Metalcore at this stage
| |
A gaping yawn then spread across my face
| |
I am whelmed at this news
| |
from what I've read, "Ancestry" is supposed to be out tomorrow as the lead single
| |
bam bam bam beeeooooeeoooee dun dun dun dun bam tsh tsh tsh bam
| |
making the same album again for the 10th time
| |
All these features might end up being the only thing that makes it distinguishable from their other albums
| |
They're career musicians, they ain't gonna reinvent the wheel. Will probably bump once and forget about it but happy for fans of em

| |
Might listen this for the features only, lol
Felt like Rescue & Restore was their last album with something "new" on it, everything since that one felt like it was AI generated
| |
i really, really want Deadbolt to be a Thrice cover
| |
It's not ALL the remains. I'm sure there are some we missed
| |
2.0/5 at best.

new song. sounds like ABR
| |
AI generated single cover, like their music.
| |
lol clean vocals. fuck me.
| |
probably not going to be prominent on the album, the cleans here are just a guest feature.
| |
Guess I have to change my next one then : /
| |
The idea of listening to this band puts me to sleep. Its kind of amazing how they have managed to keep the same stale sound for so long without much pushback or drop off in relevance
| |
if it ain’t broke don’t fix it amirite boys?????
| |
I love these guys and I don't care who knows it
| |
I love these guys too, but can't help but be bored now. New song felt incredibly by-the-numbers
| |
holy fuck the single is bad
| |
I’m assuming that the album was produced by the same producer that’s done their last 5 or so albums.
| |
okie i am not really into the last one
| |
"holy fuck the single is bad"
People really love to exaggerate
| |
I fucking love that single. Probs more than almost anything off the last two albums. Feature rules. I am excite
| |
I just realized Sevink is knives backwards………………………… 🤦🏼♂️
| |
🤔
| |
looks like they used ai to make the cover instead of just paying adam burke for an actual painting.
| |
I really like the new single on first listen. The feature is great
| |
I just listen to the new single. the later half is very good.
The feature is great[2]
| |
Haven't really listened to these guys the past few years, but their artworks always rule hard.
Single is okay

"They're career musicians, they ain't gonna reinvent the wheel. Will probably bump once and forget about it but happy for fans of em"
To me it's crazy, because they were pretty much at the same level Parkway Drive were, and if they are career musicians, then why did they just not ehm "water down" their formula and do radio metal like them.
Way more money.
Instead, they have pretty much stuck by their own formula, and did not get any bigger. I can't imagine they are doing that much money either, so since they do pretty average stuff by their own standards they have set with their "classic" discs that they will never match, why did they just not go the Parkway Drive route (pun intended) and made more money lol.
I always somehow draw comparison between them.
Also not meaning Parkway's music is better as last discs are just ehwwww
| |
They're not as big as like Parkway Drive or Architects level, but I get the impression they're doing really well financially
| |
I’m quite glad they have not gone the way of Parkway lol. I’d much prefer a more average album with a few bangers than that unlistenable drivel
| |
"They're not as big as like Parkway Drive or Architects level"
ABR are probably bigger than Parkway Drive, maybe bigger than Architects
| |
This is an important argument.
| |
Toondude are you OK?
| |
Metalcore can’t be bigger than butt rock. It’s mathematically proven
| |
"Metalcore can’t be bigger than butt rock. It’s mathematically proven"
fair point lmao
| |
Everyone. I checked this morning. Parkway Drive has like twice the number of Spotify listeners as ABR. They are bigger no dou t
| |
toondude getting checkmated by a user with sub 20 comments love to see it
| |
A sputnik classic
| |
Yep. V good. I was surprised too
| |
ABR typically release higher on the billboard charts tho, apparently they sell physical copies fairly well still, whereas streamers-per-month doesn't really translate to sales as much.
| |
Someone back me up
| |
i mean the other group might be more popular idc, they have fewer nerd fans tho so the info on their wiki is minimal. ABR dorks actually put sales info some times :p but the Billboard website is also basically useless since finding a band's chart history page is difficult.
| |
I hope they're doing well financially. They deserve it. ABRs are among the metalcore elite.
| |
[2]
| |
claiming ABR is bigger than Parkway or Architects is a delusional take.
| |
New song is alright. But man, its very obvious Jake Luhrs's voice is shot.
| |
ah great they got my least favorite KE singer to collab with
| |
Jesse>Howard imo. Song slaps.
| |
ew put that thing away my god
| |
Dong slaps
| |
This band does very well financially with live shows. They constantly headline and pack midsize venues. They also tour damn near 24/7.
Whoever said they are career musicians above kind of nailed it. This band has captured the hearts of the post-sunday school crowd like few others ever have.
| |
Best Jake has sounded in years
| |
I just realized 2 tracks on the new record are 8 minutes long 👀
Including one being track 2 after a 2 min intro song. Color me excited. They are due for some spice
| |
but are they Christmas carols
| |
Stay tuned and we’ll see!
