haven't jammed these guys since zombie, wish there was a trigger warning on this post

The Dillinger Wrestling Plan

"There seems to be more musicians than things going on here. Is that the norm."
tdwp non-denominational megachurch phase
|
| |
These guys really kicked out their synth player years back and it was such a controversy just so they can be "mature" and sound "heavier." Now they picked up this hippy loser.
|
| |
can't believe its even the same key what a time to be alive
https://youtu.be/fdGJCT-xTfw?t=93
|
| |
I can't mosh to this wtf
|
| |
I had no idea they were from the same town as Guided by Voices
|
| |
sounds like this is going to be the worst tdwp since 8:18
|
| |
why do metalcore bands all look like trendy fuckbois now
bring back fringes and crabcore
|
| |
Aggressively generic.
Wish they'd lean into the heavier sound they explored on Zombie II.
|
| |
so boring
|
| |
Should’ve called er quits after Transit
|
| |
Here’s to hoping this is the worst song on the album
|
| |
I'm waiting for the album to drop, not listening to any more singles. I'm too stoked for this!
|
| |
cant wait to hate listen to this
or perhaps enjoy. its really one or the other given how different they are now since Roots/Plagues when i got into their sound
is mike doing that annoying TAWWWLK MID WESTTTTT THING in this too?
|
| |
man i could not care less about this album
|
| |
"is mike doing that annoying TAWWWLK MID WESTTTTT THING in this too?".
Aren't we all just midwestern pop punksters on the inside? We all just hate this town and want to move so far from it all and those that have hurt us.
|
| |
"why do metalcore bands all look like trendy fuckbois now"
thanks for the laugh
this is really poppy, not too bad tho
|
| |
They sure are
|
| |
the respectable pedo aesthetic has been back in for a while now, go to any local show lol
song was offensively boring
|
| |
Ah yes, that one song in the album where all the members get a mic
|
| |
I actually dig this. It's basic sure, but I think they delivered it well.
|
| |
I've been struck by the lightning
|
| |
i mean this is just very meh
|
| |
Get him!
|
| |
i made it halfway before i stopped giving a shit and put FBX on by Volumes
|
| |
norm used to be even when they put out a shitty song the video still kicked ass, honestly this one is so poorly done even for being just a band performance
song is just ok ig
|
| |
Chorus is inexcusably ripping off every pop-punk band from the last decades. Band has got to be taking the piss at this point.
|
| |
i think they were always trend followers/explorers, so this is just their new 'trend'. theyve had so many sounds, some better than others, but its always a distinct trend and theyre THIS now, guys, you know?
instead of ever having audiences try to figure out what they are over the history of releases, they tend to make it really obvious and youre either in it or not kinda
|
| |
yea they are a really trend hoppy band, especially now. at least when rubey was around they had fun riffing that kinda helped em stand out a bit more but now they have like nothing interesting going on. and it sure isnt made anymore enjoyable by mike and jeremy sounding bad and boring respectively
|
| |
That's a weird Seether feat. Amy Lee from Evanescence cover
|
| |
christain hot topic core band goes christain
|

The Dillinger Wrestling Plan [2]
|
| |
it took three guitarists and a bass player to play this radio-bait alt rock banger
|
| |
I find it hilarious that TDWP has diluted their sound in the same manner as Architects over the years but get a free pass because they tossed out another quick Zombie EP in between releases.
|
| |
idk i still stand by this being objectively solid. I’ve been so in and out on this band over the years so maybe it’s easier to accept the departure.
|
| |
TDWP trying their hardest to catch up to BMTH architects and underoath in the race to be the biggest sellout
|
| |
majority of voyeurist is better than any single theyve dropped from this ngl
|
| |
"Aggressively generic.

"TDWP trying their hardest to catch up to BMTH architects and underoath in the race to be the biggest sellout"
Sacrifice and Watchtower aren't hard enough for you? lol
|
| |
Since when does TDWP have as many members as slipknot
|
| |
Actually good.
|
| |
This bangs
|
| |
"majority of voyeurist is better than any single theyve dropped from this ngl"
not really
|
| |
I'm literally just confounded at the thought of comparing tdwp's trajectory to bmth and architects. They just came off of ZII and some of the singles off this like Watchtower are absolute bangers yet they are selling out lol?
This is easily shaping up to be their best full length in a long time.. maybe ever.
|
| |
i like that there's a temporary cut to black before each chorus in the music video even though there's no hero angle to cut to, was so stoked when the tension broke and it was just another normal shot of the guitarist, powerful stuff
|
| |
Machine Gun Kelly did a great job with this one.
|
| |

lmao rekt
|
| |
Someone needs to tell Mike the off-key, dying cat yelling that happens over the top of the singing needs to be stopped immediately. It's cringe-inducing and doesn't add anything emotionally to the music.
|
| |
"Sacrifice and Watchtower aren't hard enough for you? lol"
These two plus "Time" aren't bad, but nothing here is going as hard as anything on ZII.
Speaking for myself, instead of them trying to "mainstream" their sound like BMTH has, I'd rather them lean more into the heavier sounds they've explored going as far back as Dead Throne. Remember the hints of thrash on Holdfast? That was a nice time.
|
| |
Dead throne is underrated, one of their best imo.
|
| |
Dead Throne has some of their best tracks yeah.
|
| |
Best of their recent tracks for sure
