It's not good, not much else to say.
| |
everything after the lack long after has been insufferably shite
| |
Man, the vocals on the climax... oh no...
| |
this feels like they listened to weird fishes by radiohead and said "yeah we can do that"
like i'm fine with the direction this band eventually took but if the dude isnt going to scream anymore the least he can do is actually learn how to sing
| |
The vocals are atrocious, legitimately shocking
| |
I was VERY forgiving to Wait For Love, but this just ain't it. Hopefully the other singles are less dire.
| |
@Slex dude is an absolute Achilles heel at this point
| |
Y'all big fuckin' wack
| |
Not bad but not impressive.
| |
"everything after the lack long after has been insufferably shite"
that's incorrect
| |
Keep You is amazing
| |
[2]
| |
why are they doing this lol
can't imagine their fanbase is still on board
| |
This is the worst thing I've ever heard...and I listened to the new Senses Fail, so you can imagine...
| |
"everything after the lack long after has been insufferably shite"
100
| |
Review it Treb, I compel you.
| |
I reviewed the last two and ran out of things to say
| |
I guess it's my turn to dunk
| |
The Lack Long After is GOAT. Keep You was amazing. Wait for Love was okay but disappointing. This is just bad.
| |
The vocalist is just so restricted in terms of his comfortable range. When he extends beyond it in either direction, the result is either a very poor tone bass or a veeery strained second tenor-ish yell? And when they harmonize, it's an absolute clash that does not mesh well.
Drums and vocals are also loud enough where the guitars just kinda die there in the climax. Man, this is a miss.
| |
Yeah, it just makes no sense that they would kneecap themselves the way have
| |
I don't mind groups transitioning from styles, that's never been the issue for me. The issue is that these guys have handled it so poorly.
Gates, Hotelier, early Trophy Eyes, Black Peaks, etc 'softened' their sound without sacrificing good songwriting.
| |
well that sucked! the vocals on Keep You were decent enough but he kept to the same range for the most part. Hearing him try to go anywhere else with his voice is laughably bad. Instrumentally boring as well. I agree with anyone that a band can change sound and I don't care as long as it sounds good. However, as many stated, their change has not been a good one.
| |
I hope y'alls ears get back to normal at some point
| |
I mean, I'd have bet my entire bank account on us disagreeing lol, this is no surprise.
| |
Wait For Love was amazing and this has me hyped for the record. Band feels like a natural extension from Thursday. I get y'all are mad they don't make screamo anymore, but this is a lot more interesting for me than the early stuff.
| |

did ya miss the part when I posted this
| |
^ I also already stated too I don't care if a band changes their sound but if the change in direction clearly isn't good, I'm not going to like it and neither will a lot of fans. On other hands there's other bands that change their sound and get unbelievably better. See Oceania (Polyenso now) for example
| |
I think there was a way to produce/mix this so the climactic vocals were better when they kick in but this wasn't it
| |
I don't even hate the vocals. The band is the one making some one note rock hidden under twinkly production. Embrace the fact that your singer can't sing and give him something interesting to shit all over.
| |
wow this is impressively bad
| |
I feel like I'm listening to a different song than everyone else. It's awesome, and I love his vocals in the outro.
| |
This is gonna be a fun album thread
| |
I predict a 3 avg at most if the rest falls in line with this song
| |
Wait for Love was great. This is great. Great, great, great.
| |
i actually never gave a fuck about lack long after. keep you was cool in 2016 when i was vibing them indie spring vibes.
also their original ep that had some song called saltwater or all children make mistakes or something, that was good stuff. demo-y, but should be on spotify compared to this!
| |
terrible please give up
| |
shame what happened to these guys I'll Get By was a good song
| |
"this feels like they listened to weird fishes by Radiohead and said "yeah we can do that""
hahahah, apparently they couldn't
| |
Vocalist needs to be lowered to the depths of the mix, then maybe we have the bones of a halfway-decent alt-rock 3.0 okay jam that will blend in with the other 3.0 okay jams.
| |
Super weird mix, song could be totally solid if the guitars and bass were more present. Drums sound like home recordings, which I think based on the drummer's youtube channel is very likely. Love PBTT more with each album but this seems half baked
| |
OK I'm glad I'm not going crazy when I say this sounds *off*
| |
great song, wrong users
| |
uno reverse card
| |
i will not be jamming pianos become the teeth music from 2022
| |
that's what YOU think until I break until your home with bass boosted GENEVIEVEEEEEEEEEE
| |
please good lord no, I can hear the boombox already
| |
I'D TAKE ANYTHAAAAAAAAAAAANGGGGGGGG
| |
Music video looks like the opening of Die Hard 2 with the main bad guy doing naked yoga
Other than that, song is nice
| |
i can listen to the song, it's actually really good
but i don't wanna watch this skinny white dude awkwardly dance for very long
| |
"Keep You is amazing"
Absolutely. Criminally underrated in the greater music world.
| |
damn dis the same band that did filial and cripples can’t shiver
| |
Maybe his voice gave out. I can’t parse out why they’d stick to this direction otherwise. Their early albums are masterpieces. I love April, one of my favorites of theirs, but that’s been the only thing I remember since Lack Long After.
| |
New song is a million times better than this.
Can we stop being mean to them now guys
| |
I'm not being mean, I found it to be a fundamentally weak single. I didn't go into it looking for reasons to dislike it, especially since I was VERY generous towards their last record.
Let me see this NEW new song...
EDIT: NEW new song is super boring, my dude. Not much of an improvement.
| |
The bass slides hard in my car. It's a way better vibe than Genevieve imo.
| |
Like I understand what they're going for and everything, but all of the components are either in dire need of improvement or half-baked mimics. They're capable of much more than this. And I say that WITHOUT clamoring for screams back or anything, just give me a pulse.
| |
I mean it's not a BAD song, it's just not very noteworthy at all. It just sort of exists.
| |
i don't wanna watch this skinny white dude awkwardly dance for very long [2]
gonna be honest, was weird for me too.
| |
was hoping Genevieve was just a one off, but nothing about either one of these singles has me excited to check this out
| |
Yeah this is bad news bears territory lads
| |
song sucks
| |
The newest single 'Skiv' is really nice too lol
| |
yea i loved keep you and wait for love was fine but nothing special and there was nothing i straight up didn't dig. but i am not feeling this at all. most bands singles are not my favorite on the album so fingers crossed this is the worst song on it.
| |
Damn, both singles are lackluster. : (
| |
My friend's brother plays bass in this band and I feel bad because I've never listened to them.
| |
Lack Long After is essential, spin it
| |
both songs fantastic agreed
| |
cold bb we can still be friends
| |
