'The song does not feature a trap beat.'
hard pass

Great song.
| |
getting a futures/bleed American vibe from this and I like it
| |
Feels a lot like the stuff from their last album which was great
| |
Dat guitar tone is juicy.
| |
def some Futures vibes too. I'm less and less of a fan with each release (my fault, not theirs), but this does harken back to the "good old days"
| |
Yeah this is classic JEW. I'm a big fan.
| |
I get older and Jew songs get harder to get into just cuz it’s … idk… not my thing anymore???
| |
Oh they're Jewish? Thought they were a christian pop punk band.
| |
Good song.
| |
Figure, that’s not clever
| |
Go figure tho, chicken hoe.
| |
Neat song, just wanted comment that the Jim Adkins Tele is a seriously great-sounding / playing guitar
| |
Just a perfect tune. Enough said.
| |
Yeah second and third spins down and this thing rules. I really hope it's not just a one off single and that there's a whole album in this vein.
| |
I love his voice so much. Too old to listen to this kinda music anymore, but it’s nice to hear them still in top form
| |
It's a bit unexpected to me to see so many people outgrowing the band. They've matured more gracefully than any other band in their former scene I can think of, and there's nothing remotely juvenile about their music or lyrics in my opinion.
| |
I love this new song. Fell headfirst into a giant Jimmy Eat World rabbit hole last Spring. Loved every second of it.
| |
hm...okay song. I've heard that chord progression a million times
| |
They're great songwriters for sure but yeah, musically they are stale as shit. There's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't do anything different or new that you haven't heard from a million different bands that sound just like them. I like my pop punk a little bit more on the experimental / weird side (Bomb The Music Industry, Bad Astronaut, PUP, etc.)
| |
Yeah that's fair enough. For me, other bands that sound like them can't match their emotional appeal or lyrics, but to each their own. It's hard to deny that Jimmy Eat World aren't the most experimental bunch, ha!
| |
Good song, but these guys are never going to be able to top Sweetness. That song I could listen to on repeat for the rest of my life and I wouldn't get bored. I do love everything these guys put out though, they might not be the most experimental but they're consistently great, wholesome fun. Chevelle haven't altered their sound since their inception and they still get 3.8 scores release after release
| |
i like dis. bleed american vibes for sure
| |
I dig all of their later work and this is no exception.
| |
Man this is just great! These guys have been on a roll since Integrity Blues
| |
I just yesterday found out they play a show in my country next week, after spending money on gigs that i couldve bought later...pain
| |
Bleed American / Futures [9001]
Band sounds like they haven't aged a bit, in a very good way
| |
Guitar sounds like 1979 from Smashing Pumpkins in the verses lol. Pretty cool
| |
Agreed this song is a fucking jam! I love this band with all my heart. Bleed American was one of the first albums I bought. I was 10 years old at the time.. I listened to that cd so many times. There is just a certain sincerity JEW has and I appreciate that. The passion they exude has kept me a fan forever. I could go on and on but yeah, they are the shit.
| |
This is the most positive comment section I've ever seen tbh, even the negative ones are politely so
| |
How can anyone outgrow stuff like Integrity Blues? This band has been on top form for a while now.
| |
yup this is pretty vanilla but it's very tasty vanilla
something about the way the gang vocals blend really does it for me
| |
Integrity Blues is goated
| |
Yeah Integrity Blues is my favorite album of theirs
I feel like it's the "in your 30s" sequel to Futures and I feel that all too much
| |
yup this is pretty vanilla but it's very tasty vanilla [2]

"They've matured more gracefully than any other band in their former scene I can think of, and there's nothing remotely juvenile about their music or lyrics in my opinion."
I feel this 100%. I've never been the biggest fan, but the last album was really good in an aging gracefully kind of way, and this single seems like they're still tapping into that vein of inspiration in a way that very few bands of their era seem capable of.
| |
Last album was OK but Integrity Blues was incredible! This sounds just as good as the best stuff from Surviving though.
