One of the most consistent bands out there. This song gives me END vibes at times. Slaps hard.

"Song rules. Band rules. Album will rule."
[2]
As a registered Sputnik user I will give this album the contractually obligated 4/5.
| |
Decent, prefer END
| |
they did a breakdown into a melody!! no way!!
| |
i have heard 3 albums by these guys and really remember nothing huh
will have to revisit (my new motto for every artist )
| |
Thank god this band still focuses on melodies and never went djent or nu-metalcore
| |
nu-metalcore is a plague
who the fuck thought generic metalcore would be better with angsty muttering/rapping and more braindead chugga chugga bits
| |
So excited to have this lineup back. The last couple albums have been really solid but the moment-to-moment songwriting feels stronger to me in albums like Tragedy Will Find Us.
| |
Ngl was hoping for more of a change in sound. they’ve been pumping out slight variations of the first 2 min of this for nearly a decade now
| |
don't fix what isn't broken. they've only ever put out heat
| |
don't fix what isn't broken [2]
Yes its a predictable song for them, but they're really dialed in at this point with the sound they want. With Jesse back on the axe I feel like the new one is gonna be different than YNYA 3.0
| |
Bangerang
| |
Can't wait to slap a 4.5 or 5 on this bad boy. Seriously, these riffs are stupidly fucking good.
| |
Best band still carrying the torch
| |
Love it when a band knows they have the right formula for success. Never change, Counterparts.
| |
Wait till you hear the new Turnover songs lol.
| |
The best
| |
Slaps
| |
consistent AF
| |
Havent listened yet but I love the album art.
| |
"nu-metalcore is a plague"
The only good bands in that scene are vein.fm, blood youth and my ticket home
| |
Wow this song is fuckin amazing, and I haven't listened to these guys since Prophets...this sounds like it could be right off that album
| |
one of the best. Sounds a bit more like the Tragedy era. Not huge on the album cover but, whatever, music will fuck
| |
Tour art was better, the actual one still rules though. Love the colors.
| |
absolutely love the album cover
| |
nice music
| |
Prophets and current will carry us are a couple of the best records ever
| |
And that exalt split too
| |
band rules. nothing new.
| |
And as always the sexy vinyl variants sell out immediately
| |
i thought they might switch things up a bit
but this is awesome nonetheless
| |
@jay scalpers i'm sure
| |
Already snagged the Magenta splatter one lol. Its the least cool but hey I'll own the album and that's good enough for me
| |
https://ca.shop.rocksound.tv/products/counterparts-a-eulogy-for-those-still-here-exclusive-vinyl this one is cool and has stock
| |
band can do no wrong. Their drummer is a beast.
| |
Shit rocks. Usually does.
My Ticket Home is still a band? Did I read that right? "To Create A Cure" isn't good and I still liked it. That was 10 years ago though so good for them.
| |
god these guys are so good. so consistent.
| |
Their drummer is a beast. [2]
Kyle kicks so much ass on this track.
| |
like this way more than anything off of the last album
| |
this breakdown gon go hard in the pit
| |
I will never understand what people see in this band at all. Nothing about them seems that special at all. END completely destroys this stuff
| |
Yeah you've mentioned that ad nauseam in every thread for the past three albums. We get it
| |
Not a huge fan of the artwork but song slaps. LFG
| |
the tour art (this one) is way better agreed
song slaps [2]
| |
"My Ticket Home is still a band?"
As far as I'm aware yeah, their two follow-up albums were much better than TCAC.
| |
Also song rules, as expected.
| |
Heavily agree with others that this wouldn't sound out of place on Prophets, which still happens to be my favourite release of theirs so I'm really hyped about this!
| |
This is decent. Its so weird, I cant think of a single reason why but nothing these guys have done since Tragedy sticks with me or makes me wanna come back. But then again the prevailing opinion is that Tragedy was their weakest and I still spin that weekly. Their new drummer is crazy though (and not a pos)
| |
oh wait Jesse is back?? nvm AOTY for sure
| |
They keep getting heavier and more dialed in. I'll never understand those who prefer Tragedy and TDBHAH over this sound.
| |
Tragedy is best fight me
edit: 1000 yay
| |
"I'll never understand those who prefer Tragedy and TDBHAH over this sound."
Because those albums have better songwriting imo I feel like there's a lack of memorable moments on the last two albums. It's sort of just a wall of noodly guitar work. They're good albums but they don't stick with me.
| |
sweet song and album art
| |
"They keep getting heavier and more dialed in. I'll never understand those who prefer Tragedy and TDBHAH over this sound."
Tragedy has its moments where its really awesome, but yeah they've pretty much surpassed it easily. YNYA and NLTL both have better instrumentation, production, and better song writing. Songs like Cherished, Thieves, and Arms Like Teeth take what they've been doing on Tragedy/Hell & Home and improve tenfold on those elements.
| |
This was done so much better when they were called Shai Hulud
| |
A dude who went to my high school was director of photography for this video!
| |
barf, *high school*
| |
“I'll never understand those who prefer Tragedy and TDBHAH over this sound”
This sounds just like TDBHAH the f you talking bout
| |
No it doesn't dude lol
| |
"This was done so much better when they were called Shai Hulud"
couldn't agree more
| |
This was done so much better when they were called Shai Hulud"
Couldn't care less
| |
Least annoying doom fan
| |
This slaps harder than my father. Sick tune.
| |
Jay the first verse literally sounds just like Ghost’s first verse lol
| |
Not hearing it. Tbh this sounds more like Monument but if they sprinkled some crack on it.
| |
hurts not to check this
| |
'Least annoying doom fan"
rent free
| |
"Oh well, just sprinkle some crack on him and let's get the hell out of here."
| |
But then again the prevailing opinion is that Tragedy was their weakest and I still spin that weekly
Prevailing opinion is definitely that Current is their weakest
| |
Cause it is yes
| |
