I'm all for this. Still hoping there's some heavier bangers sprinkled in the album. Child Solider was all over the place and I loved it for that reason.

I would not mind a full album of songs like this at all. It's got that trendy alt metal shoegaze sound I like

Great tune, and definitely happy to see a new album on the horizon. Plus, the fact that it's only nine tracks may work in its favor, if I had one quibble with Child Soldier, it's that it was a bit too long for its own good (though diverse enough that it was always interesting, never boring).

Not bad. Never got around to checking out the first album even though I was a fan of Dillinger. Need to get to it.

Not my favorite song he's ever done (not big on Code Orange lady) but it's good. His solo stuff and The Black Queen records are my shit so definitely excited. Interesting album title too.

Having mixed feeling on this one. Greg's parts are dope and there's stuff i think are really cool and others i'm like eh. That heavy metal turn in the bridge just sounds wrong to me and it doesn't help i'm not huge on the female vox either.

Its still really damn cool to see Greg go off and do his own thing and not give a shit about trends or anything. Im glad he isn't making stuff that sounds like dillinger. If dillinger ever comes back it'll be interesting to see what they come up with but if they dont im glad that they are all doing their own thing. Songs pretty damn cool

Glad the new album is going to be 9 songs. Thought Child Soldier had lots of good points but it was completely bloated imo.

because they’re the “future of hardcore” but they kinda suck sometimes despite having all the talent in the world

I think it also doesn’t help that their first album was very much a sputcore type album but then they pivoted away from the quieter moments in favor of loud industrial metalcore/borderline nu metal. Like Return to Dust and Underneath feel like two polar opposite albums. The band’s self-aggrandizing attitude also doesn’t help. Quite honestly they became more interesting when they dropped the “Kids” moniker, but all of their records are fascinating to me, I love the career arc they’ve gone down. I can totally see how someone could listen to Underneath and say “this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard” but I still think it’s a masterpiece.

im not that invested in the recent CO stuff but yeah the amount of backlash they get here is entirely unproportional to the stuff i've heard

it's like that car bomb record a couple of years ago, so much negativity then I heard some of it and it was like this is exactly the same as what they were doing before why are people mad

I mean I don't think their music is metal excellence or anything, but they've got plenty of good songs and a somewhat original approach to the metalcore/hardcore formula.

It’s more that they used to be so much better.
I don’t even have Underneath or Forever rated that low. They’re decent albums, but I loved their early material.

Code Orange is really good, the singer is one of the most obnoxious front-men in music today though unfortunately.
