I admit I was worried that this song was going to be cheesy just based on the name, but I was pleasantly surprised.
|
| |
Love her.
|
| |
Not bad, New Horizons (and her first solo-kinda) was missing a lot of this
|
| |
Just realized my mistake - she released a few other singles earlier this year but I must've missed them. Gotta wonder if there's an album on the horizon.
|
| |
eh it's alright
|
| |
is this the evil character from advance wars
|
| |
I can't get over the fact that she turned 40 this year
|
| |
still can't get over the fact she's homophobic and participates actively in homophobic religious activism groups, shame
|
| |
Oh jeez, is that true? I knew she was a bit Christy, but that’s about it.
|
| |
she's a founding member of the whosoevers movement, who regularly host events tryna 'unmask' the 'homosexual lifestyle' and the 'homosexual sin'
|
| |
Yeeeah that's pretty gross. Too bad. I've always enjoyed her voice.
|
| |
Yeah, I don't love that either. Sometimes I wish I knew less about artists' personal lives lol.
|
| |
godamm nazis in every corner
|
| |
what's more ironic was that she was a lesbian before converting to Christianity
|
| |
I guess she must view herself as a former sinner then? Kinda weird.
|
| |
"what's more ironic was that she was a lesbian before converting to Christianity"
How does that even work? Is it like being a recovering alcoholic where they're fighting their sexual urges with the power of Jesus for the rest of their life? I had a friend/acquaintance who was very much an out lesbian in high school and college, not even bi, but then became very actively Christian after college and removed all traces of queerness and relationships from her social media and I wondered the same thing about her too.
|
| |
It's called hating yourself
|
| |
That's some mighty powerful hate.
|
| |
Yeah that's just some crazy shit. Idk how people can function like that.
|
| |
for some it’s a bit too late
|
| |
where'd u find out she was lesbian
|
| |
It’s on wikipedia at the very least
|
| |
not according to ctrl f
apparently its in her book
|
| |
Damn I Had the over/under on 10 before the lesbo shit storm dragged through here. Barely made it.
|
| |
She did hate herself before, doesn't look like it now.
|
| |
I googled around a bit but all I could find was the same 1 or 2 sentences repeated verbatim like they are in here, but not once a source linked. I can't find a single statement from her saying anything homophobic or hateful. She discusses being a lesbian in her book and it wouldn't surprise me if she thinks homosexuality is a 'sin' but as far as her "participates actively in homophobic religious activism groups" can I get a source on this bruh
|
| |
song is dece, I hope she drops an album next year
|
| |
She has never said anything homophobic, she once was in the Whosoevers like 11 years ago, she participated playing a couple songs and speaking briefely about other themes, she has never said anything hateful nor homophobic, actually in RTR 09 she played as Flyleaf there and I recall saying God loves everyone no matter if they are gay or straight, girl, guy she said during their said that God is love and love you who you are no matter what you do. This song is amazing, so it's pretty sad that the person above whom tried to tear Lacey with such a dull ill informed comment about her just shows what kind of person he/she truly is.
|
| |
Why did she stop being a lesbian after becoming a Christian if it’s not bad to be gay
|
| |
because ideologies have inconsistencies, obv
|
| |
good song. felt them emotions. seems like its about yanno drinking christ's blood and that being enough and shit. cool enough but christians always tread too far in the "it HAS to be jesus" of it all.
was at a funeral recently and every other word is Jesus. JESUS CHRIST. like they say all this good stuff you can agree with "she loved her family, she was a teacher" and it ends with AND BECAUSR SHE BELIEVED IN JESUS
im like bro, just be a good person. hell, the 10 commandments even have a place now, but lets drop the cult-like worship of a man
|
| |
I remember my cringe anti-Christianity phase from my early 20's too.
|
| |
Sometimes I wonder if you still wanna fuck me/Sometimes I wonder if Jesus is above me
|
| |
As a Christian, that’d be pretty hilarious if those were the actual lyrics
|
| |
"Why did she stop being a lesbian after becoming a Christian if it’s not bad to be gay"
According to her, she and other family members had abusive relationships with men while growing up which led her to identify as a lesbian as she was very distrustful of men. Not that she "quit gay" for Jesus lol.
I do think(ie guessing) she probably holds some antiquated Christian views on stuff like this but that's a far cry from her operating gay conversion therapy camps for kids lmao
|
| |
"That's some mighty powerful hate."
i mean, apparently she was a heavy drug addict back then too. it's typical that they blame being homosexual, and just about everything but themselves, for being drug addicts. it doesn't even have to be about blame, but eh, w/e lol

etc etc
i mean it's their official site and facebook page, idk what more do u need lol
---
"She has never said anything homophobic,"
this is the typical homophobic christian rhetoric of "we just love everyone! your 'lifestyle' is disgusting tho 🤢" that every single homophobic christian group spouts, y'all not fooling anyone
"she once was in the Whosoevers like 11 years ago,"
she is a founding member and participates to this day, as evidenced by both their official website & their facebook page. nice try
the rest of the comment is the typical homophobic apologetic bullshit
|
| |
She’s a massive homophobe, and she has VERY close ties with Breaking Benjamin and Seether. So either those guys are similarly bigoted, or they just don’t challenge her on her views
|
| |
Also, song is boring trash like everything she’s put out since leaving Flyleaf
|
| |
I should know better than to read news threads around here
|
| |
damn asfda better research on this than ur covid
also lol at pot hobbling in here
|

|

u got this page on constant refresh or sthg?
|
| |
" “Approval: 28%” ok buddy that’s cute"
dumbass reply lmfao
but yeah that whosoevers "homosexual reality" thing is....yikes
|
| |
"she's a founding member of the whosoevers movement, who regularly host events tryna 'unmask' the 'homosexual lifestyle' and the 'homosexual sin'"
I mean yeah, she's a Christian. Christians don't believe being gay is morally correct. It doesn't make you a bigot, it means you have particular belief about certain subjects. Doesn't make you a bad person.
|
| |
"It doesn't make you a bigot, it means you have particular belief about certain subjects."
big·ot
/ˈbiɡət/
noun
a person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.
|
| |
Key word in that definition is "unreasonably." If someone were to ask me why I don't like gay people and I didn't have a reason other than just not liking it, that's unreasonable and would fall under bigot. If a person says they believe that homosexuality is a sin because they practice a particular religion that teaches that it's immoral, that's not an unreasonable explanation to feel the way you feel.
We can agree to disagree I suppose. Bigot is a negative word though, and labeling someone negatively because they disagree with a lifestyle choice doesn't itself make you a bad person.
|
| |
oh fuck off
|
| |
what in the fuck lmfao
|
| |
this guy hears about nazis gassing jews and ponders if it's that bad
|
| |
"lifestyle choice"
Also, why do bigots always get so butthurt when the word comes out? "Hey man, all I said is that I hate this group of people because they're different than me, why you gotta call names and be negative?"
|
| |
i meaaaaaan this is sput, any reasonable discourse is fucked right?
just enjoy or don't the music. stop bringing politics into it if you don't want to fight over large issues even nations disagree on, surely you are right in your assessment 16 year old #457
|
| |
So disagreeing with a choice that someone makes means that you hate them? Makes total sense! Threads like this always remind me how many liberal dummies are on this site lol
|
| |
"Threads like this always remind me how many liberal dummies are on this site lol"
The peeps who are arguing with you are leftists, not liberals. We liberals don't want to be associated with them.
|
| |
idk what's worse, the song or this thread
|
| |
“lifestyle choice”
Actually shut the fuck up you brainlet
|
| |
LiBeRaL dUmMiEs lmao awwww
|
| |
brainlet got a chuckle out of me.
everyone, shut the fuck up. there, we done now?
|
| |
"Key word in that definition is "unreasonably."
Believing things because an invisible bearded man in the sky supposedly wants you to isn't unreasonable? Hmm...
|
| |
ah, here we go. let me grab the popcorn
|
| |
we live in a society
|
| |
"The peeps who are arguing with you are leftists, not liberals. We liberals don't want to be associated with them."
cool, feeling's mutual
|
| |
"The peeps who are arguing with you are leftists, not liberals. We liberals don't want to be associated with them."
Liberals don't want to be associated with anything, which is ya'll never get anything done
"So disagreeing with a choice that someone makes means that you hate them? Makes total sense! Threads like this always remind me how many liberal dummies are on this site lol"
Nah you fucking traffic cone, but denying them services, essential rights, and sending them to conversion therapy camps does KINDA seem indicative of hatred
|
| |
Lol now you're changing the subject between you and Sitarhero. My point has nothing to do with conversion therapy, which is clearly fucked up. Get it through your head that not everyone has to agree with you. If two people want to be gay, fine. It's up to them. But it never stops there. The LQBTQA++$ group of people demand that everyone not only let them live their life, but demand that everyone promote and encourage it as a morally positive lifestyle. That's where many people, including Christians draw the line. You clearly don't validate Christian beliefs, since you call their God an "invisible bearded man in the sky". So you're allowed to dismiss and insult religious people, but no one is allowed to offend the LQBTQA++$? You can fuck right off with that bud.
|
| |
Woo boy, didn’t check this thread for a few days and this baby has snowballed.
|
| |
song is decent, ye
|
| |
look, im 5% gay myself, but i don't think Lacey Sturm or whatever gives a fuck, and if she does, who gives a shit, she can fuck off
|
| |
Gordo your posts pretty much all heavily imply this but I have to ask directly: Do you actually think gay people "choose" to be gay? You keep calling it a "lifestyle choice" and saying it's "up to them" and shit like that. This seems to be where you want to cut homophobes some slack, by saying it's a choice you give them room to criticize on the (still idiotic) basis of religious morality, making it a choice they can disagree with rather than just admitting that people are what they are, and that their negative feelings towards gay people have no merit whatsoever, which brings us back around to that whole "unreasonable" thing.
|
| |
agreed, though i will say this - some people's sexuality evolves as they age. that OG big tiddie goth Elvira chick can confirm. she started dating a woman in her like, 40s or 50s
not saying it was a choice, but someone who is X sexuality at age 25, completely and naturally, may seek other paths in later age. so its not always static as I WAS BORN THIS WAY ITS PERFECT THE WAY I AM
|
| |
"Do you actually think gay people "choose" to be gay? You keep calling it a "lifestyle choice" and saying it's "up to them" and shit like that."
Some choose it yes, some are born with it. That's why I call it a choice, because you're choosing to act on those urges or your not. I don't care if someone is gay or not. I care that that it's been made into a culture war along with the trans-movement and gender fluid nonsense. It's all tied together in the sense that if you don't come out in avid support of the movement then you're demonized for it. That's the problem many including myself have with it.
|
| |
nevermind
|
| |
@Gordo LMAO there's so much ludicrousness in your post that I'm not going to spend all afternoon addressing it. However, I will address this:
"You clearly don't validate Christian beliefs, since you call their God an "invisible bearded man in the sky". So you're allowed to dismiss and insult religious people, but no one is allowed to offend the LQBTQA++$? You can fuck right off with that bud."
I don't validate ANY religious beliefs, but if not validating your belief in the invisible bearded man because it, unlike your sexuality, IS a choice makes me a bigot then, darn, I guess I'm a bigot too. But hey, at least I've got enough conviction to embrace that label instead of whining like a coward every time some religious nutbag calls me a bigot.

"So disagreeing with a choice that someone makes means that you hate them?"
The main issue is actively trying to prevent people from making choices you disagree with. Like I think ranch dressing is a sin but I'm not trying to make it illegal
Also what do you weirdos expect me to do, pretend I don't want to suck dick?
|
| |
hahahaha ^ /thread

"Get it through your head that not everyone has to agree with you."
no we get it. doesn't mean i can't think you're a fucking moron and generally disgusting, insufferable, etc.
