These cleans were somewhat unexpected. Good stuff.
I'm looking forward to this.

Aight the cars are fuckin godly, especially that GTO but the song sounds like generic melodeath to my ears unfortunately.

Obscura has a Soilwork chorus now nice. I really enjoyed the guitar lead at the end. Love that melodic stuff. The album feels all over the place so far. And did he put some distortion on the vocals on this album? Sounds pretty cool

That absolutely fucking ruled
|
| |
If they ever wanna do cleans, I suggest they keep em vocoded like they did on that one song on Cosmo
|
| |
Honestly I thought the cleans were pretty...clean
|
| |
I enjoy Soilwork, but tbh I never liked Bjorn's clean vocals. I can tolerate them in Soilwork but mixing them here just sounds bad.

He kills in Night Flight.

Radical. I can tell they’re just letting go of the concept of genre and doing whatever they want, and they’re the kind of musicians that can do most anything.
|
| |
First old school death and now melo death, I like it.
|
| |
Unusually uplifting for Obscura, pleasant surprise, I kinda like it. Technically mindblowing of course.
Car setting is pretty lame tho.
|
| |
Since when is Obscura “old school death” lmao
|
| |
Who the hell thought cars and sunglasses were a good idea?
|

no-one who can play a guitar that tastelessly can drive

i don't really mean that i think they're all very impressive boys
|
| |
Obscura was old school death on devoured usurper
|
| |
Yeah, I meant Devoured Usurper.

Loved Soilwork when I was first getting into metal. Haven't jammed them in ages though and gonna have to now for the nostalgia. Love the bass here like with all the Obscura I've heard. The flashy guitar moments are pretty cool too. Not something I'd really go back to though. Solo went a little long imo. Will check the full thing when it drops though
