Song is the most AILD song ever. Not a bad thing but they need to do something new at some point. Solo was pretty massive though.

Never understood why the band members relied on Tim. Wovenwar failed as the sound was too light for the AILD faithful. They could’ve recruited a 10x better vocalist and maybe would’ve been been a popular band today. Tim has always been overrated IMO.

Song would be so much cooler if their annoying ass clean vocalist didnt have to chirp in with his extremely boring and generic choruses
Like bruh this shit riffs so hard and the solo is awesome and Tims bitchass sounds deranged and feral on it, imagine thinking "Yo...I gotta sing over this. The songs great but its missing a weak ass hook"

mf still thinks it's 2004, nobody's checking for clean vocals like that anymore

I listened only because of the cleans being criticized so much but literally every As I Lay Dying song has had the same cleans since Shadows Are Security (in 2004 haha) and you all choose now to go wtf? Lololol

I always assumed that was the real reason people hated the Awakened album. The production and songwriting really emphasized and relied on the clean vocals more than any other AILD album.

Their old clean vocalist was better and in 2004 his cleans sounded great and he gave some pretty memorable hooks
It is now 20 fuckin 21 and the other guy is not doing anything cool or memorable with his hooks. Thats why we're complaining.

The chorus is better than a lot of the typical AILD choruses. At least there's an actual melody and it's not just a 2-3 notes hook.

It sounded to me that this song in it's earlier incarnation was a b-side, but they re-worked it to bring it up to the quality some of you are saying it's at.

Clint was SO much better than Josh imo. I was really bummed when he left, part for his stage presence and part for his smooth as fuck singing. To be fair, tons of other metalcore bands came around and had their own version of Clint, so he doesn't sound particularly unique anymore. But at the time, dude was killer, and they didn't overuse him.
