New Signs of the Swarm Single 2021-06-29 by Fernando Alves STAFF | 15 Comments | US deathcore band Signs Of The Swarm unveiled a new single, 'Totem', and announced the release of their forthcoming album, Absolvere, out 24th September via Unique Leader Records. The official video can be seen below.
Shot & Directed by: Squareup Studios
The album will be available in 5 special vinyl variants, with the special 'Crimson' edition limited to 500 copies worldwide in 'Bloody Rust' & a beautiful Red/Black marble.
Drummer / producer Bobby Crow comments: " 'Totem' is a solid cross section of what to expect from Absolvere. Crushing riffs collide with insane drumming, all layered underneath explosive yet memorable vocals. We turned Dave (vocals) up in the mix, yet it doesn’t take away from the musicality at all; it complements it. Oh yeah, and this is far from the heaviest track on the album, so get ready."
On the video, vocalist David Simonich continues: "I'm incredibly proud not only of the music and lyrics but also the video we did with Eric DiCarlo of SquareUp Studios. I get super involved with the visual aspect of our videos. In this case, I worked on the burning book, body paint and hands. The hands grasping at me is a metaphor for us being pulled in different directions. The book is a reference to the line ‘bled my blood in the pages,’ which highlights us pouring our life into the band. The fire symbolizes how difficult dedication to the band makes managing the rest of our life. We wouldn’t have it any other way, though."

This sounds like a step up so far.
| | | 'Vital Deprivation' was the best thing they've ever done, not so sure about this single. Excited for the new record none the less!
| | | Eh, sounds pretty standard for the genre and nothing is grabbing me.
| | | I bet I know exactly how this sounds without listening to it
| | | "Signs of the Swarm"
Wait this isn't about the Tour de France crash?
| | | That lady should be forced to watch Jaden Smith's movies on a loop, for all eternity.
| | | Honestly I thought it was hilarious. And as a driver in North America, bikers kinda piss me off anyway hehehehe
| | | Bikers in NA want to be treated like cars when they are on the road but then refuse to obey traffic lights and stops signs.
| | | And that's why I hate em
| | | Lol Notrap
| | | Every time I see these guys I keep thinking about Swarm of the Lotus
| | | Listening to this band for the first time
I know those growl style is pretty overdone but they do sound pretty sick, definitely a shit ton of effects on that tho. And I'm just glad they're not chucking random highs and shit with no rhyme or reason.
Pretty decent

These kind of statements worry me though. Pretty clear actual songwriting isn’t high on the agenda.
| | | Kinda boring.
| | | Joy.
