Midnight Odyssey is a one man ambient/black metal band from Australia. The band is now becoming extremely prolific by releasing 4 albums in 2 years whilst the previous 12 years in the band existence only brought 2 full lengths.

'Biolume Part 2 - The Golden Orb' is set for release on March 19th, 2021under I, Voidhanger Records.

Song list was made available with a total time play 1h and 42 minutes:
1.Dawn-Bringer
2.The Saffron Flame
3.Golden Orb
4.Rise of Thunder
5.Aurora Burning
6.The Unconquered Star
7.Below Horizon
8.The Chains Become Mine (Helios Invictus)
9.When the Fires Cool

The 4th song on the album was already made available:

Dis Pater, the sole member of the band has shared his thoughts on the record:
“The album is about being punished for something and undergoing a cleansing of the mind, body and soul. It’s not in the Christian way of going to purgatory to enter heaven, but more akin to being part of an order of things, a natural law in the universe; a power that is balanced, and what happens when unknowingly dislodging that balance. This is about feeling the ultimate wrath of the sun god, and ultimately the complete insignificance of human existence in the entire terms of universe, galaxy, space and time. We are at the mercy of the sun, life-giver and life-taker. The fires will come closer before they cool, but humanity will be gone by then. We would have long faced our reckoning.”***

Pater also shared his input on the album cover:
“Like our hot Australian summers, it’s a harsh and uncomfortable place of being that brings to mind stories of the desert in ancient near-Eastern mythology and literature. And atop on his golden chariot is the Sun God himself, punishing with heat and thirst, drought and drying winds.”

Sweet damn 4 new albums?
I jammed Funerals From the Astral Sphere some years ago and adored it. It's been some time tho so it's hard to say what I'd think now.

Biolume Part 1 was superb. Hopefully Part 2 is just as good.
