They won’t.
| |
probably not, one of the robots was blown up

Go away Kraft Punk!

Jenny death when

Discovery is still the best house/electronic album of my life. Thank you guys.
| |
music sounds better with you was the best daft punk song
| |
Well, it was something.
| |
Not my bag whatsoever but can’t deny their impact
| |
Cute video, good decision, they wouldn't do this lightly I think.
Their first two are Important Albums for me.
| |
Their influence is undeniable and their discog is banger after banger
| |
This news sucks
| |
RIP
| |
I thought they broke up years ago lol

more like Daft Rodrigo
| |
Today is a sad day. Loved these guys.
| |
Probably my first favourite musical project/band and I discovered so much from them. Really grateful.
| |
As long as Kraft Punk is still going strong I’m perfectly fine
| |
This year just keeps getting better.
| |
I loved them ever since my childhood. Damn
| |
they had their moment but haven't really done anything of notice in a while
| |
Another piece of my childhood laid to rest. I'll always remember that one night of Toonami: Midnight Run years ago with both them and Gorillaz. Thanks for the memories.
| |
Such a cool way to disband. Legends.
| |
Not making the right questions. Why only one robot?
| |
Gonna jam Alive 2007 because it's the best album ever. Brb.
| |
true that 3D, didn't understand why the second one didn't explode
| |
well that sucks
| |
Yeah based on the video I'm wondering if they are calling it quits specifically cause of Thomas
| |
Will you be my cheese wife?
| |
Something about us ending still makes me cum&cry

LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE LOSE YOURSELF TO DANCE

when ya walkin
| |
I didn't really expect anything from these guys after RAM but this makes me slightly bummed for some reason
| |
That was surprisingly touching.
| |
I think this news is a bummer for almost anyone of a certain age. These guys were the soundtrack to a lot of social gatherings and memories whether you liked 'em or not. That summer when Get Lucky came out might have been the best of my entire life, fell in love hard and that song will always remind me of that. Around the World and those first two albums brings me back even further to good, though often drug filled times. This news really bummed me out, even if I'm not a massive fan or have listened to them much in years.
| |
Digital Love never fails to put a smile on my face
| |
Their last two records were meh so like yeah not a big loss or surprise given the massive gaps between activity
| |
RAM sucked
| |
Nah
| |
RAM had some serious bangers dude
| |
RAM is my favorite Daft Punk album, despite how amazing Discovery also is. Seriously one of the best pop albums of the 2010s with banger after banger... plus, I love how organic and even progressive the album is, with all the lengthy instrumentals and complex arrangements of the longer tunes
| |
Homework was always the best.
The videos at the time were revolutionary and the reason why this ‘act’ has rightfully written itself into musical history.
| |
Farewell Daft Punk : (
| |
hm, kinda sucks
anyway...
| |
Suppose it’s fitting that the vid is fucking quality.
| |
RAM was like the Stranger Things season 3 of music
| |
"RAM sucked" 100% agreed, it was garbage all around.
| |
RAM is super overrated, it's fine but it doesn't come close to their first two and many of the ideas just seemed stale and unfleshed out
| |
felt like they never rly had a chance to show their stuff - Discovery was really something incredible and after RAM the two would have had enough experience doing both the mainstream AND underground shticks to have made something truly insane
| |
im sad
| |
This one stings. There's no denial regarding the impact that Daft Punk made on the music industry. Given that there hasn't been much new material from them in years, this news felt in a weird way expected. Was hoping for just one more album release before they disbanded...maybe they'll return (using their actual names) to score the new TRON film that's planned?
| |
"RAM was like the Stranger Things season 3 of music"
Hard disagree. I still listen to RAM a lot to this day, whereas I couldn't even bring myself to finish S3 of Stranger Things
| |
Womp womp
| |
i will miss them greatly!!
| |
TeeTh
| |
Ah, farewell to one of the greats. Discovery is still amazing.
| |
Great career, cheers for the memories
| |
Don't care at all.
| |
thanks for letting us know!
| |
I'd go years without listening to Daft Punk thinking they were too commercial until listening to them again and getting reminded how special they are (were).
Gonna miss them...
| |
Don't listen to Daft Punk too often, but everytime I do it is great. Love their rockstar approach to electronic music.
Even people who don't care cared enough to post about it, that's an achievement of its own if you ask me.

"Not making the right questions. Why only one robot?"
Because he's gonna repair the other one for the Reassemble video and subsequent tour + live album we'll get in 7-10 years.
