Chevelle return with new single

2021-01-08 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 51 Comments
Chevelle have announced the release of their long awaited 9th studio effort, Niratias, due out on March 5. Even though Dean Bernardini left the band at the end of 2019, no replacement has been revealed yet. Watch the music video for the first single, 'Self Destructor' below:

Regarding Niratias' sound, front man Pete Loeffler mentioned: "on the last two albums, it's been, like, I woke up and I was, like, 'I wanna play heavy shit.' And that's where we've been. But, honestly, the music is way more melodic on this one."

Here is an acoustic version of a previously released new song, 'Endlessly':

Really digging this new track. I really liked The North Corridor but felt like they would have to change it up a little bit on their next album. If this single is any indication, they’ve done just that.

I'm always amazed by how consistently good these guys have remained when most of their contemporaries have either broken up or descended into the depths of mediocrity.

Nice song at the core but the production is really flat in my opinion. The mix is like a wall of sound and the vocals are completely washed out.

What's happened to the vocals? Pretty irritating.

One of their best lead singles in a long time, I was taken back by the vocals on first listen but they quickly grew on me

Also, damn why are Chevelle's ballads some of their best songs. "Bend the Bracket", "Highland Apparition", and "Shameful Metaphors" are some of my favorites.

Two songs on this album are tagged as explicit.... idk man, my mom might not let me jam this.

Single slaps, love the album art too. Vocals are great as always. Shocker, it’s a new Chevelle album
