Stevie Wonder Drops New Songs

2020-10-14 by Cyan isn't a shade of blue. | 6 Comments
Stevie Wonder just released two new songs for an upcoming EP. These songs will not be on his Through the Eyes of Wonder album that was announced back in May. Wonder stated that the EP will be released before the album.

"Can't Put It in the Hands of Fate" features Busta Rhymes, CHIKA, Cordae & Rapsody. It's a reaction to the recent George Floyd controversy and other Black Lives Matter issues. Notably, in the song Wonder sings "You say that you believe in all lives matter. I say, I don't believe the fuck you do" showing his disdain for the reactionary "All Lives Matter" phrase used to detract from Black Lives Matter.

The second song, "Where Is Our Love Song," is a soul ballad about how humans need to love each other collectively.

I never thought Stevie would ever say “fuck” but hell if it’s for a political message, why not?

Never thought we'd get a Busta Rhymes and Stevie Wonder collab, but here we are. 2020 needs to chill

Something weird going on with Stevie's vocal pickup in Hands of Fate, sounds a lot more compressed than I'm used to hearing him. Other than that song is great though, Busta crushes it obv.
