i think this is stupid but it's not inherently bad i guess

Seems more like FNM track (or even Dead Cross) than something off of California-era Bungle, which was where my head was when I dove in.
| |
this is like the most basic metal song ever
| |
e-racist
| |
"Seems more like FNM track (or even Dead Cross) than something off of California-era Bungle, which was where my head was when I dove in."
Don't know why. They toured on this material, and the first single they released was from this original EP. The whole deal was just re-visiting this old material.
| |
this is far less engaging than anything off of the original demo
| |
Mike still sounds great, song is whatever.
| |
What happened to Mr. Bungle
| |
lol
| |
Why though
| |
I like it. Seems pretty normal for mr bungle though.
| |
Last song they released sucked and this is no different. Bad move coming back all these years after California to release stuff like this.

| |
the solo was pretty dece, the rest was unlistenable
| |
this album is going to be so bad
| |
cannot wait to 1
| |
I'll never get what people see in this band lol
| |
Mr. Bungle are loved for their crazy genre hoping unpredictability
This is just basic extreme metal
This makes me wanna change my username tbh
| |
sad day
| |
Ars: LMAO
| |
lol why are people mad at this? If you want to listen to California, listen to California.
| |
trust me i dont want california either
| |
Ars change ur name to BarsMoriendi
| |
Or at least Detective Ars

Love Bungle but this is shite...as expected to be honest
| |
^Was exactly my thoughts Deez...
| |
I'd never let someone else name me
I'm not Colton, y'know?
| |
Guys, it’s not that hard to figure out. The album is a re-recording of their original thrash demos, it’s in the fuckin title lol. If thrash ain’t your thing then just don’t bother with this one!
| |
A bungle a day keeps the yogurts in place
| |
"lol why are people mad at this? If you want to listen to California, listen to California." People mad because Bungle goes on an indefinite hiatus after their most popular album, then when they do decide to come back it's to tour on some cassette tape EP, and then they decide to re-record it for some reason. I never even listened to that EP in the first place, since I assumed it was just some garbage demo haha. Which sounds like I wasn't too far off.
| |
Song is fun I guess
Good quotes anyway
| |
I think the best thing out of this is that they all seem to be having a good time together. Could mean something in the future from them, who knows.
| |
Really not good
| |
but it really is not bad either. it's a strong fantano 6
| |

Bungle will forever sound shit if it still included Scott Ian
| |
Idk, I thought it was solid. Not amazing, but pretty good.
| |
I stan Detective Ars
| |
"Guys, it’s not that hard to figure out. The album is a re-recording of their original thrash demos, it’s in the fuckin title lol. If thrash ain’t your thing then just don’t bother with this one!"
This is true, but isn't this song in particular a newly written original?
That said, if they're having fun, good for them! There's certainly some novelty in replaying your demo songs 30 years down the line, I won't argue that at all. I personally don't like this stuff.
| |
I'm treating this like a twitter post of a band in their re-genesis (hopefully)
on the bright side that Tomahawk album should be solid as that and fantomas are his most consistent projects for me
| |
btw if anyone has any new Tomahawk news plz post, last i heard they recording stuff this year that was apparently already written
| |
i mean they couldve rerecorded bowel of chili, stop hatinn
| |
Last Tomahawk was ass too.
| |
great example of the "band acts like new song/album will be something totally new and groundbreaking, yet it ends up being really basic" trope
| |
Do we actually need a new Mr. Bungle album?
| |
"great example of the "band acts like new song/album will be something totally new and groundbreaking, yet it ends up being really basic" trope"
not sure that anyone, especially the band, is acting that way. seems like an excuse to pal up and have some dumb fun playing a style they're not gonna pretend to be over - fair shit. doesn't get me excited, but there's no cause for shade
| |
all of what the man in black johnny said. 100!
| |
Just less defeated
| |
tbh, this sounds like boring standard metal.
Hope there's some compilation with their '91-'99 unreleased stuff on the way.
| |
This is laughably bad wtf
| |
"If thrash ain’t your thing then just don’t bother with this one!"
lol but I like thrash and this still sucks.
| |
I love that Bungle’s first album in 20 years is a re-recording of their thrash metal demo. They play what they want. If it pisses people off, that’s even better. Very punk rock.
| |
lmfao
| |
re-treading your tech demos from 34 years ago but with grating modern production techniques is the epitome of punk rawk xD
| |
video pastiche is as dated as the song
| |
"This makes me wanna change my username tbh"
it's still a pretty kickass lunar aurora reference
| |
ur new username should be uddermane
| |
Very boring. Pass.
| |
Bungle coming back to do anything other than gleefully piss off their fan base just wouldn’t feel right. Hope they make their dollars
| |
Really liked how this track sounded live back in February.
This studio version, less so
