Big sad. Gonna be jamming Lost Song and Untouchable
| |
guys can we please stop making the year worse thanks
| |
This sucks
| |
2020 managed to dismantle a band that's been actively delivering good and unique music for almost 30 fucking years. Jesus Christ
| |
I mean, they took the majority of the '00s off and came back as strong as ever, so fair call ig. Great band.
| |
sad news but I hope the break means they'll come back with more inspiration than they had on the last album
| |
band is painfully bland lol
first album is coo tho
| |
Shit news... And I actually quite enjoyed The Optimist
Hope to see them back soon
| |
this is heartbreaking
| |
Serenades was so good.
| |
Eh, Anathema was my favorite band for a long time but they lost me hardcore after A Natural Disaster. No big loss at this point, IMO.
I still spin Serenades frequently though. Also the early demos, the Crestfallen EP, and Pentecost III. I don't really listen to their more prog / rock stuff anymore though. Don't really listen to those styles at all anymore TBH.
| |
Dammit. This hurts
| |
"We're Here Because We're Here" is now "We're Not Here Fuck This Year"
| |
Ugh this is messed up
| |
"A Simple Mistake" has been my anthem the past couple weeks so this is pretty jarring to say the least. Hopefully what Johnny said is true this time around.
| |
I liked "The Optimist", but overall I think it paled in comparison to even just the 2 previous albums... maybe they need some space from each other to find inspiration or yearning for the band dynamic again... or whatever their reason for it. If the world seems to be ending - I would think it would prompt striking while the iron's heat still exists... but I guess it can go the other way, as with anything... it would be badass if their situation mirrored Katatonia's for sure
| |
Sweet
| |
2020 continues to suck harder than a new vacuum cleaner. I only hope it is temporary and that they'll come back with a super strong Weather Systems/We're Here-level album.
| |
Been on hiatus since Seranades
| |
well fuck
| |
LOL, why do you keep deleting my increasingly cleaned up comment?
OK, here is yet an even cleaner version:
Hopefully they'll use the time off to learn how to write music without relying on flamboyant, histrionic, saccharine emotional displays. I mean, I love hearing middle aged men go on and on about their fee fees and how much they love each other as much as the next guy, but it's getting a little bit stale.
| |
damn now i wanna know what the first version was
| |
lol Cappa nailed it
| |
"damn now i wanna know what the first version was"
(2)
also, lol
| |
BOOOOOO I was looking forward to more music from them
| |
good, they've become really cheesy in the last few albums
| |
rip
| |
Sad. I hope it won't be too long.
| |
well this fucking blows
| |
I was pretty stoked personally
| |
Hopefully karnivool and katatonia are next
| |
do brits pronounce the name anathema or anaphema
| |
They pronounce it aluminium
| |
that makes sense
| |
This news really sucks btw
