saw this in the related articles and spat out my drink https://www.deadpress.co.uk/news-emarosa-accepting-submissions-for-a-new-vocalist/
(before realizing the date)
|
| |
Didn’t even know Emarosa were still an active band
|
| |
article is almost two months old but yeah
|
| |
yikes, what a creep. I'm glad he's being held accountable for the emotional abuse and sexual manipulation of what looks like several people. this is that legal grey area (grooming, in particular) that people so often get away with.

ADTR is next.
|
| |
This band can't stay away from drama. They can't take a third singer loss.
|
| |
What's the go with ADTR? I've heard mutterings about it for awhile but nothing concrete
|
| |
totally expected jonny craig tbh
|
| |
Yea whats the deal with ADTR, I know they had some pretty shifty rumours involving gang rape and some other sick shit floating around them. In a few of the recent posts about sexual misconduct on here Ive seen their name pop up
|
| |
Honestly shocked the whole 00's Warped Tour scene bands haven't been outed yet.
|
| |
the prominence of scene bands and their front men doing stuff like this is unfortunately not surprising at all
|
| |
Thought they dropped off the face of the earth already, but then realized they put out an album in 2019 with that one song that actually kinda slapped.
|
| |
Back when I was into scene music I was really bummed that I didn't live in America and couldn't goo to Warped Tour or go see any of these bands live but nowadays it's starting to seem that maybe it was better that way

Another one bites the dust
|
| |
how old was the guy?
|
| |
I've read through the tweets regarding these accusations and for as bad as they are, there are still a lot of things I don't think were addressed, anybody got any more info than that? either way, JC Emarosa is best Emarosa, and he should go to jail if these allegations are true.
|
| |
1 out of 4 of all people are assholes and bands have on average 4 people
|
| |
the math checks out
(not actually)
|
| |
Shame, Givin’ up was such a jam.
Another one bites the dust [2]
|

My general reaction being around a 17 year old for more than 5 minutes is either imagining punching them in the face or jumping off a cliff .
But these dudes chase them down. I'll seriously never understand it.
Imagine hanging out with a clingy 17 year old blabbering on about clique drama cuz Kelly said something behind Emily's back and Julie is like a total slut.

Bradley released an official statement this morning:

Lol what a fucking load of fluff that "letter" was. He just danced around the fact that she was 17 when they started their relationship
|
| |
see it’s weird for me because in the U.K. the age of consent is 16, so over here this wouldn’t make the news at all. but in the US it’s 18, so over there this is weird. I don’t really know how to feel about this.
|
| |
Yeah a long, flowery statement like this does not help his case. Major gaslighting vibes going on here, turning it into a statement about how the victim is supposedly contributing to problematic cultural attitudes regarding how we should approach sexual misconduct, instead of, you know, a statement about the sexual misconduct that he perpetrated.
|
| |
> takes advantage of a minor.
> "omg this minor i took advantage of isn't handling it the way i think she should"
|
| |
Well, the alledged victim didn't proceed correctly. I know I will get hate for this but the facts are:
a) Making false accusations can get you in serious legal trouble, so creating false accounts to accuse Bradley of pedophillia without going to the law firsthand wasn't a smart move.
b) The age of consent varies from one state to another and from one country to another. Where I live, a 21-22 year old person can have sex with a 15-18 year old without any legal repercussion as long as it is consensual.
c) Pedophillia means sexual attraction from an adult to a person under the age of 13-14. So going strictly by medical definition this is a false accusation and subject to legitimate defense.
I don't live in the US and I don't intend to be flippant. Things are very different here.
|
| |
If they did then they shouldn't post accusations on social media until the issue is resolved. I believe that only damages their legal testimony rather than helping them.
|
| |
Right, that's my point. As long as they have legal support and can defend themselves with facts they can spread the awareness, otherwise is just heresay and potential damage of own testimony.
|
| |
Something about this doesn't feel right to me. The dude's career is ruined and his name is forever linked to being a pedophile due to an anonymous twitter account. That would be humiliating. I probably shouldn't expect more from the media but when your article source is literally just some twitter posts - don't call yourself a journalist.
Im not too familiar with American state laws but if she's a consenting adult by law then it seems like a non-issue? Technology and the idea of solicitation makes this more of a grey area.

Guys who dress like 15 year olds like to creep on 15 year olds, what a surprise. Fuck that guy
