Beloved Cover "Like a Song" 2020-08-18 by nash1311 | 23 Comments | For the first time in over 17 years, Beloved have released new music. They chose to cover U2's "Like a Song" from the album War. They covered this song in particular because it is a favorite of theirs, and they felt its lyrical content was prevalent in the current times.
Currently the song is only available on Apple Music, but it will begin rolling out to other platforms "in the coming days".

"'Like A Song'
It’s been 17 years since we released any music. Seventeen long years. In the years of being an active band, we always wanted to record our take on a deeper cut by @U2 : “Like A Song,” from the album “War.” The song is incredible. It’s angry. It’s edgy. Bono’s lyrics are as meaningful now as they were then. They reflect our hearts as five individuals in a band, and we had no part in writing them.
Our original plan in recording and releasing this song was to charge a small donation via an awesome music server for smaller bands. However, “charging” something for someone else’s song includes lots of red tape. This proved to be more than we could possibly handle at this time, as we are as DIY as ever. We are currently waiting as this version is being uploaded to all of our favorite streaming services. Sometimes our timeline doesn’t match the universe’s.
We do ask that if you could take this time while patiently waiting to donate to an organization that is very close to our hearts. www.eji.org is helping to spread Hope, Mercy and Justice through the Equal Justice Initiative.
