They have so much potential. They seem like excellent musicians and she's a great singer, but the song writing hasn't been there. Youtube is blocked, but I'm definitely excited to check it out.

Weird, it's an official Century Media YouTube stream. I'll check if there's another link available.

It's blocked because of my current location. So are the other links, but I appreciate the effort. I'll check it out after work.

I'm relistening to the EP and the two previous releases. It's so frustrating how good they are when they're good and how plodding they are at all other times. I have faith, though, because they've made significant progress on each release.

This is my problem with them too, they are a band of "small moments" but not for entire listens.

The title track for their second album, 'This Banished Heart', is perfection though.

Haven't heard the new single yet.

I moderately enjoyed their sophomore, but their third album bored me to tears. And the production was too cold, I couldn't enjoy it. This song is interesting, however, I like the more poppy sound at the beginning.

Album cover is b a d, tho. After the modern take on the BH album cover, the new one strays too much at the late '90s gothic territory.

I forgot about their debut. Ha ha. It's their third album "This Banished Heart" that I like the most. I've never heard the debut. I also checked out the single, and I am definitely looking forward to this album now.

Good track, but the guitars should be doing more

Song is nice, I didn't mind it but their previous lead single "No Color, No Light" got me more hyped back when. Album art is fucking stunning, love it. I have a hard time believing though that they're going to be able to keep my attention for 12 songs and 72 minutes of music. They keep falling into that trap, but I am open to being wrong.

I checked it out with headphones instead of my crappy phone speaker and this is way better than I thought it was originally. I'm optimistic.

The first half of The Banished Heart is really haunting with some great riffs and lyrics. They have to capitalise their potential in a fully enjoyable effort though...

Agreed. Every album has had some great songs, but there's always been too many filler songs. Nothing really bad, but still filler.

I'm gonna be dead honest their drummer is fucking terrible. My big gripe with The Banished Heart were with how much the vocals and the instruments clash against each other, and so much of that is because the drummer can't stop doing these flashy, overblown drum fills. The song overall isn't half bad, the songwriting is tighter than most of their previous release, but the drums in the first half are so distracting.

That's an interesting observation, I honestly hadn't paid much attention to the drumming. In fact, the song would benefit if the breaks were simpler, letting the music breathe more. Yet, I do love the song.

Imo, the drummer was very solid on The Banished Heart, liked the doomy passages.

I think having a drummer that doesn't sound like he's slipping into a coma is one of the things that sets these guys apart from a lot of the doom bands.
