Mayhem + Abbath tour canceled

2020-03-12 by starboystargirl | 20 Comments
The Decibel Magazine Tour, featuring Mayhem as headliners, has been entirely canceled due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

Decibel's official statement:

"In an effort to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous states and cities on the Decibel Magazine Tour routing have announced bans on gatherings in excess of 250 or 500 people (with many more expected to do the same in the coming days). As a result, we have been forced to cancel the Decibel Magazine Tour."

In my country any event hosting more than 100 people is automatically canceled, schools and certain facilities are closed, basically all films showing up in theater soon are also being pushed further into the years.

Time to relax in the man cave I guess.

Here in the UK pretty much every American band has cancelled/postponed their tour because of the travel bans put in because of this. Glad I haven't booked any festivals for this year.

--gatherings in excess of 250 or 500--

At least the 80s revival bands can still tour.

So many things are being canceled now, I hope Graspop (metal festival in the summer) isn't getting canceled. Guess I'm not seeing many concerts in the coming weeks here in the Netherlands....

Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum just canceled their NA tour after one show. Said it's a huge financial disaster for the bands... This sucks.

Yeah bands are sitting on mountains of merch they were hoping to pay off with tour revenue and sales. These guys are up shit creek without a paddle. Complete disaster.

If they post it online I'll buy some for sure or donate or whatever they do. This kind of thing can legit ruin a band.

It's pandemonium right now, but the sooner and tighter the world shuts down, the sooner everything will go back to normal.

Time to buy your favorite records and merch online.

That big Sepultura tour was cancelled and all those bands are hurting big time. I might buy a shirt just to help those guys out.

I just don't get it. If you consider corpsepaint as antiseptic, black metal gigs should be allowed everywhere.

Yeah, they cancel every event over 100 persons here in Germany too and even some smaller ones. But better safe than sorry I guess?
Stay safe, folks.

Idk I don't like the policy. The virus is pretty much just killing people already with bad health. They should still run these events and people who are at risk should stay penned up at home...
