"aids music"
God I love this website
|
| |
Especially when it's coming from someone who 5'd In The Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel where the vocalist has like one note in his whole range and the songs are boring as fuck.
|
| |
easily some of the worst music i've heard this year.

Luke Holland is definitely fitting with these guys and the drums sound better than ever, this new rock-infused sound mimicking modern djent and metalcore with the chugging guitars in the verses and the infectious melodies in the chorus from Danny makes it a winning combo, this is the kind of tone that fits his vocals instead of making him do bare minimalistic poppy ballads or party tracks and harkens to the kind of songs that Lorene Drive used to release. Also, the chorus sounds like an anime intro lmao.
Edit: Also, I knew the edgy elitist bunch would come out of the woodwork when the people on Kingdom Leaks who normally despise HU have literally no qualms about it and are impressed. But, alas, it's not some wanker crooning over distorted guitars and noise rock elements for 12 minutes while repeating the same lyrics and letting you guys jizz over how unique it is, cough Swans, cough. Stay real, Sputnik.

yeah you tell em

There's way more horrendous bands in the scene but whenever any music comes out from these guys, the usual suspects are drawn like a moth to a flame because they take music far too seriously and can't really appreciate the fact that these make mindless fun tracks to just chill out to. If anyone thinks their lyrics are in any way respective of their real-life personalities, you're a fucking moron and personally, I don't understand the hate boner Sputnik has for HU tbh, it's just rap-rock mingled with various other genres to keep things fresh, is it the experimentation? Is it the cringy stage pseudonyms? Heh, who knows, unravelling the intricate labyrinth of the pretentious critic web is a challenge. They're entitled to their opinions but expressing it like douchebags which is essentially the M.O of this site and assuming that anyone who is a fan of HU is immediately a braindead Australopithecus knuckle-dragging simpleton is a bit out of left field which I've seen articulated before.

Busted out the thesaurus for that one

These guys are becoming a threat to our ears.

Alright, I have read a lot of reviews and thought that I would try writing one for the first time. First off, I am 17 and currently in High School and first listened to Hollywood Undead in 8th grade and immediately was hooked and I couldn't explain why. I have always listed to heavy metal and the 'core' music that people call nowadays. I listened to Swan Songs for over a year pretty much all the time. Then after a little while I Heard the song Hear Me Now by Hollywood Undead and it was really bad and it didn't sound right. After doing research i found out about what happened to Deuce. I followed him for months with his solo career and listed to tracks from his EP's. I thought that they were... ok to say the least. Very repetitive at some parts and the music itself seemed to be lacking something. Maybe it was the poor audio quality or something else, but it just didn't seem to do it for me. Then I heard the songs 'Let's Get it Crackin,' 'America,' and 'Help Me,' and instantly remembered why i loved hollywood undead in the first place. DEUCE. I was very excited to pick up the CD and listen to it all the way through. Now that i have gotten my life story of Deuce and Hollywood Undead out of the way, let this review begin. The first track was "Lets Get It Crackin" (score) and I was pumped to get through the rest of it. America is an awesome song referring to how the world views America and how we seem to be nothing more then a violent powerhouse of a country. Then songs such as "Nobody likes me" made me think about how he and his guest vocalist Ronnie Radke in the song have a lot in common with what happened to them in their past such as getting screwed over with their former friends and bandmates. Throughout the cd, most songs have special guest vocalists like, Truth, Jeffree Starr just to name a few. Listening to the album, i have picked up on a lot of similarities with this, and Swan Songs. Which is EXACTLY what deuce wanted to do for the fans because he knew we loved that cd so much. A lot of the lyrics are very vulgar and make Deuce seem like a pompous 'in your face' prick, but the fans love it and thats all that matters. I love how this album is like a Party that tells a story for his life and how much he has matured (bare with me here) as an artist to become more then just a 'chorus singer.' All in all, this album is well produced, creatively written, very fun, and very in your face with Deuce saying that you can either love him or hate him but he is always going to be around.

there's mindless fun and then there's what this is, which we know isn't "mindless." It's music listened to by pseudo-edgy, mostly misognynist baby men who are still addicted to their nostalgia for 2002, despite not actually being culturally aware during that period.

HU: breathes
Sputnik: Is that like a personal attack or something?

Is Death still updating that Copypasta list?
|
| |
Why are they allowed to still release music while Departures have been forced to split up?
I guess this proves that there’s no justice in the world...

Finally listened to this, lmao that fuckin' pop punk-ass chorus is sooo weak

That’s too bad, dear

Kompys, I think you're a bit of a glutton for punishment, mate. You've expressed your distaste for these guys on several occasions, why are you torturing yourself by investing more time into something you know you'll despise?
|
| |
This band is an American institution.

B E G O N E T H O T

Yeh, normally I'm not one to seek out shit I know I won't like but idk something about these guys, it's like a trainwreck I can't look away from
|
| |
I mean,, Everywhere I Go is actually the single worst song I've ever heard and I'm genuinely morbidly curious if they'll ever manage to top themselves in that regard. A lot of HU's music is merely inane and derivative, but they have a handful of tracks that are just like the polar opposite of every artistic sensibility I have, and in a weird way that's almost as valuable to me as music I unreservedly love is.
|
| |
Haha, that's one interesting approach to it. You do you, man. I'll have to go and one-up you however, Turn Off The Lights is the worst song I've ever heard be expelled from them, it's unredeemable and obscene drivel that has Jeffree Star in it for added laughability but I think of them like a car crash, it's objectively a terrible thing but you can't look away, I keep wanting to see what these crazy kids have cooked up. But, I'll lend them some credit, even the worst HU song does not reach the unfathomable lows that Brokencyde and Blood on the Dance Floor provide.
|
| |
UNDEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
This wasn't "worst song I've heard all year" levels of bad but I definitely will not listen to it again or this album. Just clicked on it for the lulz I guess.
|
| |
Eh, Brokencyde and BotDF are definitely bad, and by a lot of metrics probably even worse than HU, but I just can't take them seriously enough to get worked up over them the same way. Also Turn Off the Lights is definitely a solid pick for worst HU track, got that big spicy misogyny all their worst cuts seem to display.

“pretentious critic web”
Bitch you mean web critic
|
| |
I have a preference for high levels of tonal musicality
|
| |
But you have Jane Doe as a 5 which is a wall of incoherent nonsense and is the album that most people are obsessing about on here to seem cool when other than the instrumentation, provides nothing unique or interesting with Bannon's vocals as the aural equivalent of getting your dick stuck in a mouse trap.
