Coldplay releasing an album called Everyday Life with those song titles is beyond parody. Will see how deep the self-satire runs.

| |
A more experimental affair uh oh can't wait to see how that turns out
|
| |
Orphans is ok
Arabesque is their best song in ages
|
| |
Arabesque is nice, hopefully the album will be more like that.
|
| |
Hopefully, the experimental side will be good. From the mainstream one, I don't really have expectations after A Head Full of Dreams.
|
| |
Not sure what is so experimental about Orphans but it's ok.
|
| |
well if you would look you would see they are separate disks bro
|
| |
We really don't need this.
|
| |
Orphans is on the experimental disk.
|
| |
There’s literally no way in hell Arabesque is supposed to be a mainstream pop song compared to Orphans lmao
|
| |
Neither sound like "mainstream pop" to me. It's not like Hymn For The Weekend or something.
Assuming that the two disks are not mixed, it's more likely that the second, titled "Sunset", is the experimental one.

04 BrokEn
05 Daddy
|
| |
These are the best songs they’ve released in years what the hell. Arabesque in particular is weirdly good
|
| |
Well I thought Orphans was incredible, can definitely see why they'd see it as more experiemental... moving on to Arabesque
|
| |
Holy fucking SHIT Arabesque is phenomenal.... love that they're still going for the globalist pop thing hahaha
|
| |
I still think these guys can create quality music as they once did, but the first songs released for Ghost Stories were loved by people and the final album was still crap, so I don't want to get my hopes high
|
| |
oh wow they're actually recapturing some of those weirder viva la vida vibes, albeit after a decade of generic snoozes since then
really liking these two so far
|
| |
I've liked everything they've put out, but I still think this has the opportunity to be better than anything they've done since Viva, or at least Mylo
|
| |
As much as I disliked their last two, I’m somehow looking forward to this one a little. I get this feeling that this is gonna be at least somewhat a return to form.
|
| |
i really only dug viva la vida (so lovely), but arabesque is a cool vibe
|
| |
love Orphans
|
| |
Never expected to release a song with only one chord nowadays, great stuff
|
| |
Arabesque is excellent
|
| |
I didn't expect to like these at all because I've been nothing but disappointed since Mylo Xyloto. This feels like they're going back to the right side of stadium pop though. Loved the songs, cautiously optimistic!
|
| |
found both a bit snore but arabesque had a mighty fine outro
|
| |
proud of yall for giving this a chance (:
|
| |
Holy crap Arabesque is actually good. The first time since Viva la Vida where it sounds like they give a damn
|
| |
Arabesque is great, dang. It's like they forgot the past three albums ever happened and just did a logical progression from Viva La Vida
wait does Orphan really have the same 'ooh ooh' vocals from Major Minus? that song was good too, suddenly I'm hype for a new Coldplay
|
| |
"04 BrokEn
05 Daddy" [2]
|
| |
the Sunrise album is 100% the experimental album. There is no way in hell Arabesque would be on the pop mainstream side of Coldplay's sound.
|
| |
'Arabesque' is incredibly good. Best thing they did in over a decade.
I'm hyped for the experimental stuff if it sounds like this one.
Orphans' is really bland.
|
| |
sunrise & sunset really?
|
| |
Is Arabesque successful, streaming and radio play wise?
I mean it is fairly inaccessible by modern charts playlist standards, compared to your pop trap stuff
|
| |
Sort of excited about this. As terrible as modern Coldplay has become (which is to say, really bad) I used to jam oldschool Coldplay. First few records are actually excellent, it's just easy to forget they exist these days. This formula of pleasing their record label/lining their pockets with the sell-out bs on one record and then making music they actually want to make on the other works for me.

title track just released, and its pretty great, bringing the viva vibes back hard
|
| |
Interesting. I actually like that Arabesque song. Checking out Orphans now. Don't have high hopes from how it is starting, tho.
|
| |
its def a more conventional track but its fine
|
| |
Yea, I wasn't into much after finishing it.
Everyday Life is a cool song, tho.
|
| |
Well I didn't think I would get hyped for a new Coldplay album ever again, but those 3 new singles have been actually pretty good, Kaleidoscope EP was a step in the right direction so I really hope rest of the album doesn't suck.
|
| |
Best album since viva la vida. Trouble in town sounds like it would fit in on the Blue Room EP. Refreshing
